Mind Melting Social Media

I recently decided to drop off the grid and log off of all my social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, ect.) I've been logged off for about a month now and so far I have honestly noticed a total shift in my mental state. I seem to be resting better at night, I've started reading and crafting more again, focusing on how life is moving on all around me, and so much more. Sorry if that sounds a bit cliché but its hard to really explain. I suppose in a way I feel healthier? For lack of a way of calling it. What about you? Have you taken a break like this before? How did it affect you?

nah i totally get that feeling. I felt the same way when I quit TikTok. I only had it for maybe a year during the pandemic, but i decided to delete the app when i started noticing serious brain fog and i constantly felt fried- like my brain was overworked but not in a satisfying way like you get from learning an instrument or solving a tough math problem. Just.... fried. Never understood the threat that *insert media* will "fry your brain" until TikTok ^^'

It also left me generally unmotivated and agitated all the time. I was sad to say goodbye to all the amazing artists I followed, but I knew it wasn't worth whatever was happening with my mental health.

So yea i get what you're saying about feeling mentally healthier. idk if your brain was fried to the same extreme that mine was, but we have similar experiences.
