I've been debating cutting my hair really short for a while. I've always had longish hair, because that was what was expected. I cut it short when I was younger, but always grew it back out because the men in my life said it should be long.
Now that I am no longer interested in 1) appeasing men and 2) dating men, I am gonna chop it! I'm so excited. I feel like it's going to make me feel so free.
I often believed that to qualify as "goth" I needed long hair. I don't feel that way anymore. I feel like I can do whatever I want and still rock the style I love and be the weird little darkling I am.
So wish me luck and I'll have pics with the new do!

Fuck yeah!
I am in the middle of growing mine out, but keeping my sides shaved. Do you know what kind of style you are going with? Cutting my hair when I realised I was queer was huge for me. Having long hair with some parts shaved is me trying to embrace my genderfluidness.
