New trike...

I spent quite a bit of cash on a new adult trike. It is said to be for elderly folk... Funny to read that, and that it is for the handicapped.

My health has been in slow decline the past year being less and less active. Less and less drawn to the want to be around others. Sleeping more, and spending many hours of last fall just laying in bed dreaming of the past, things long dead including many loved ones.

The past six months have been a time of dealing with intense chronic pain at times. My right shoulder keeping me from sleeping, or even being very active at all beyond walks of some few miles.

The snows and ice are now gone, having given way to rains, grim grey skies, and mild days. The feeling of wanting to be alive though hasn't come back with them. It has been subsided into knowing that i'll spend wake and sleeping hours with hurt crawling through me erasing quite a bit of my former want to be alive.

The trike has brought some of that back but it taking getting used to. It is heavy. 70 pounds, and with ny own weight of 250 I am moving over 300 uphill at times. The strain makes me have to rest after a few minutes. The trike is pushed uphill, and after about two miles it seems like it would be a good thing to lay down for a bit to catch my breath. I'm looking for places like that in the area and only go out in the early mornings when it is the most safe to really cut loose on downhill slopes, and take fun rides through empty suburban streets.

I've done her up with el wire, hub lights and spoke lights. Though the battery pack for the spokelights came off during the first ride with them in place. I just smiled and have decided that it will be better to use hublights on all the wheels. We also ordered a large bluetooth speaker to carry in the back, a discoball led headlight, and a stout u-lock.

Going to be doing some video about why I decided on a adult trike this morning as it is to late to go out riding. People have started to move around, get ready for their day, etc. The early morning is my time. My safe and golden hour to take her out right now. Once my strength and stamina has increased we will be going out farther away from home. Until then it is early mornngs and close places.
