My oh my

Well, lately, I see a lot of people calling themselves 'goth', while don't have the slightest idea of what goth music actually is. No, it ain't bands like, i don't know? Falling in Reverse? Nope. Slipknot? Nope. Evanescence? No! Even with magazines eagerly calling them Goth, they're not. they're rock. Linkin Park? Korn? Avril Lavigne? Nickelback? Hells to the no! 
Oh, you're into Children of Bodom? Cradle Of Filth perhaps? Still not goth.  
A goth is someone who listens to bands like Sisters of Mercy. The Cure. Front 242. Suicide commando. VNV Nation. Mesh. Never heard of them, or never heard of the most of them? You ain't goth and you shouldn't label yourself as such, because you're making a bloody fool outta yourself. 
Don't dress as a goth while you don't listen to any of the bands that I pointed out as being actual goth music. 
Does it sound cocky? Maybe. But I've been a reporter and reviewer on goth music for many many years, and even more years, I've been active as a photographer for goth parties, gigs and festivals. So I can say that I do know what I'm talking about, when I tell you, that you're most likely, just an imposter, wearing the clothes, because it's looking cool, or 'dope' , or to scare the fck outta people or trying to look 'cool' .

So, yes, there is a difference between eBm and eDm/ EBM is the actual gothic music, like Front 242 and Suicide Commando, and eDm, is music like Daft Punk, and has got nothing to do with eBm.

And now, go, and educate yourself into real goth music, or change the outfit you wear.
