Despite being a Sunday, I still had work and went about my day like any other weekday. It's the kind of work schedule where it's different every week, including punch in/punch out time. These days I usually have Monday and Saturdays off, but not for this week apparently. I work as a cashier at a supermarket chain if you're curious.
Since today I was schedule to start at 5pm, I slept in until 11am. Lately I've been waking up earlier than usual when I sleep in, I used to wake up at around late 12pm ~ 1pm. I think now that I have a full time job, I value my time awake a lot more. Need all the time I can get to do what I want! But yeah, I did skip breakfast because by the time I went through my usual morning routine, it was already almost 12. Mom made some pho so that's what I had for lunch. She makes the best pho, incomparable to what you order at restaurants.
After lunch I just went straight to my computer and did some drawing. Ok half of the time I was on YouTube watching random stuff or whatever. But I did finish a drawing. I finished a character design for a background character for my story. That's it I guess, he's nothing special he just exist to be in the same class as my main characters. I might post some more character art on a separate blog.
Aaand then it's time to catch the bus for work. So I did lie in the title claiming that today was an uneventful day, because an event did happen on the bus. So apparently they added a new bus stop on my usual route, but for some reason the bus driver did not take a right turn (where it was supposed to go) and went off route. I don't know if he forgot to turn and couldn't turn back? Or he was genuinely confused on where the new stop was at? I don't know he just kept going off route and then parked the bus on the street parking. Like a regular parking space. I was already late because of the rush hour now this detour??? I ended up walking the rest of my way and was like 15 minutes late.
My supervisor was chill with it at least. Started my shift, did work, blah blah nothing interesting happened. At least nothing bad or stupid happened, not even a missing price tag happened. After my shift was done, I took a quick stop at Walmart right before they close to get a pumpkin for Halloween (they had it cheaper compared to the store I worked at). The old lady in front of me at the check out lane had this bottle of juice she wanted along with her groceries but told the cashier to cancel it because she might not have enough cash or something. And there was this back and forth of putting the juice back to the groceries and changing her mind, realized she still had extra change in her pocket and dumped a bunch of quarters on the counter.
I guess I wasn't really in a rush, my parents were picking me up and just waiting in the parking lot. I don't blame the old lady for throwing all the quarters to the cashier because if I was her, I would want to get my little treat with the groceries as well. And having the same job, I feel for the cashier as well. It always annoys me when the customers pay in small coins when it's like a $20+ bill. my math skills aren't the best and have memory of a goldfish, I need to recount everything when they give me more change and hold up the line even longer.
After the Walmart stop was done and got home, I had some frozen pasta for dinner along with a cup of instant milk tea (idc if it's 10pm already I want my sugary drink NOWW) and watched some random youtube videos. I usually try to avoid watching shortform content like shorts (i actually added an extension on my computer to have them disabled)) or instagram reels because I know I'm gonna be stuck there for another 3 hours, wasting my time when I could be drawing or doing other stuff.
So now I'm here writing this blog and eating oreos. Can I be very honest? I like oreos better when they're a bit stale..... they're softer and has this cake-like texture to it, idk. My friend gave me a disrespectful look when I told them about it lmao. I just prefer soft cookies over hard crunchy ones! Back to the topic of blog writing, I've been thinking of actually starting some kind of journal or diary. In the past I've always wanted to have a journal collection because I love looking back at old stuff and reminiscing on the past. I usually quit after week one. Maybe I shouldn't be writing every single day, I'll just write something occasionally. Maybe in 5 years I'd want to read what my normal day looks like. See how much things have changed. Even for a year, you can change a lot.
I think that's all I'm gonna write for tonight's blog. I wish you a good day/night, random people of the internet. Remember to take care of your bodily needs in the real world, and I'll seeya soon.
