looksmaxxing and its affect on young men

i've been seeing tiktoks about bonesmashing and peptides in order to reshape their faces into more aesthetic standards. it's heartbreaking that these videos trick young people into harming themselves and taking drugs to try to fit an unrealistic standard. these videos also cause the young to have insecurities about their appearance and facial structure.

what's even more messed up is, people accept these standards and expect others to fit this unrealistic standard. really says something about social media and its effects on society.

what do you guys think?

i have a weird view about "looksmaxxing" because in my eyes its young men holding themselves to a severe societal pressure (to look a certain, unattainable way) that women have been societally pressured to hold themselves to for decades - its harmful nonetheless but i think its interesting (;′⌒`)
