Which dog breeds are the most prone to health problems?

Dogs were bred to help with something:0

It’s no secret that dogs are, roughly speaking, domesticated wolves. In the past, dogs helped us obtain food. Later, however, we needed them to perform other tasks—such as searching for people—so humans began breeding new types of dogs. There are countless dog breeds out there. But take Pugs, for example—do you know them? They suffer from a huge number of health issues, including problems with their eyes and breathing... It’s terrible! Why breed animals that are inherently sick? (P.S. I actually owned a Pug myself, and he died from a lack of oxygen.)
I understand that some animals are bred purely as companions, but why create a breed that is born with health problems?
What are you thinking?
