First Mosh Pit-genuinely life changing

Okay bro..I want to start off by saying that I have a not- before this really been into metal music. Like, I will listen to a few songs here and there but i've just never got into it since I just didn't vibe with it the same way I saw a lot of other people did. But yesterday I went to this sort of festival with a couple friends and we got there right when they opened (4pm), and we stayed there till closing (12am) since the Dickies were the closing act. And during the rest of the time there were about 20 bands before so we went between the bands and looked around, and about half of them were alt/metal bands.

And holy shit...it was like it touched my soul. Like not even exaggerating it made me want to move like I never have, and there was even a mini mosh pit that I ended up joining and it was literally transcending. I don't do stuff like that, I don't move around in spaces like that and I don't dance---like ever. I am so disappointed in myself for not joining sooner because that had to have been one of the best things in my entire life.

I am sore as hell today, and I almost fell over yesterday from being so dizzy but it was so worth it. I am literally digging to see if the bands we saw have any CDs or something since they were all pretty based in my area. And on top of that I am just sifting through more know metal bands to see if I can get that vibe again. I've never thought to look into the music just because I didn't think it was my vibe and because I didn't think I was really able to indulge without dressing more alt (i'm barely coming out of my shell in terms of fashion/makeup).

Anyways, this was such a self indulgent rant. If you have any experience in the sub-culture (is that the right term?) i'd love to hear it! I am just so excited to be seeing the amazing artists that pop up on my feed and seeing the amazing fashion and people that come with it. If you have any recs or advice I would also really appreciate that as well ^^

This is the third time I have to rewrite this comment. Because spacehey was constantly crashing on my phone.

Sooooooo

Welcome to the cluuuub~

I have been listening to metal music for the past six years although I do not consider myself a metalhead. It is just another genre I enjoy.

But last year when I was in Croatia with Erasmus exchange program, me and my friends visited Zagreb. There was an anti-fascist festival and they had several punk bands performing. (I knooow that metal and punk are two different things, but that is how I got introduced to moshing)

That was the first time that I’ve ever saw a moshpit up close and of course I had to try it myself. You described the feeling perfectly. that euphoria is priceless. I remember I laughed so much in those moments.

By the way from my experience Croatia has a really strong punk culture.

When I came back home to Transylvania. I was fortunate enough to find a club where they held metal/punk events and there I could continue the art of moshing.

Last time I was in a moshpit was last weekend. For three days my neck was dead. Xdd

Here are some song recs for ya <33

Pinkpool: Wrong, Away

Xdinary Heroes: u and me in arguments

I'm hoping to catch some of the band's other performances or some in my area soon. Meeting people during the shows was probably the second best thing ever, people are so sweet!!
