Alrighty let's cut to the chase

 So I've been doing some thinking about this whole CN Leak think and I've come to the conclusion that....

 In the heat of the moment, I think we should just play it safe for now

  Don't worry, we didn't get in trouble yet, but I also don't WANT to get in trouble..!

 So here's the plan for now

 So we got a TON of files in that leak, left and right I've been hearing of links getting shut down. So you know what that means? The responsible conclusion means: this is REAL DEAL internal stuff. So we really can't afford to goof around .

 Now as an artist my whole life, I've always wanted something like to work at Cartoon Network someday or something to that degree. I really respect the art and effort that went into cartoons back then and regardless of their shift in the past recent is irrelevant.

  This is very real legal information, and my main goal isn't to steal but to learn from all of this to improve my own art. We're artists, not ai. We don't learn by just sucking up images, and with that we need to be responsible about this. 

Now don't get scared, no one threatened me to write this but the more I look at these files I realize, they're too vaulable to just lose and not learn from them.

  You're wondering what's on them that's so darn important? Well for one, a real artist gets inspired by things and understands how to try implementing that in their own work. They don't even NEED the FILES themselves, just the knowledge that comes with it.

  I was digging around and noticed "Character Art" or "Stock Art" and saw a bunch of .EPS files.

 Now you see, .EPS files need to be opened up in Photoshop, so I did to be prompted asking me the size.

 "Size?? Um, sure let's make it big" the art was much larger scale!

 "Ok let's try small" --I think you see where this is going

 "Hmm..scalable art...that means this is using--"

 "VECTOR FILES FOR ART?? Vectors can be rescaled easily straight away..! Then I realized! When I make my logos for my branding--I COULD HAVE BEEN DOING THIS INSTEAD!!!

 AND here I was blowing up the resolution of my logos and textures in my animations to something crazy like 10k by 10k Just to make sure it wouldn't look pixelated...It makes me wonder, what if I just used vectors instead...I don't know if blender accepts those..uhh lemme look it up..

 Okay look I use chatGPT to ask questions but I'm not dumb about it, it can be genuinely helpful quicker at times, anyways apparently it boils down to--

 It's possible they could draw art for characters, then either scan it into a vector and have someone clean it up or just have someone trace art as a vector--or just make the art as vector art..? 

Hmm..ok well I guess how they did it isn't too important, .eps must have been the go-to at the time that was also just kept around but since .eps is good for printing all that tells me more is that they used the character art for resizing their characters easily for printed promo material and could use it to scale art down for stuff like websites and articles for optimizing webpage loading times....Hmm that makes the most sense so far, not unreasonable.

 Let's get back to the point--Vector art is much more easily scalable for whatever you need it for.

 The alternative is a massive PNG  but sometimes scaling down a PNG can make the image blurry or cause artifacting, esspecially if you scale something down then back up again, it ruins the image quality.

 There were full color and Black and white versions of every stock art.

 The first thing this tells me as a graphic artist, is they wanted this art to be as flexible as possible! Sometimes just allowing the character to be recognizable in black and white only is nessisary for black and white prints, like newspapers or even for the sake of having a recognizable character! Artists could easily make posters, tee-shirts and all kinds of merchanise if they hand off the art to graphic artists to really let them COOK!

(I made these wallpapers for fun, but they they really show what I mean. When you already have black outlines for characters it can really highlight their designs and allow more cool stylized art out of it!)

 Cool stuff huh? Most of these only really took 30-ish minutes of playing around without much idea how they would end up like--and you had people who already knew what they were doing working with this stuff?? No wonder, these files really are versitile!

  Back to the point--AGAIN...I never would have learned all this had I never seen these files or had it been brought to my attention, and it affects how I want to better my OWN art and branding!

 Now it makes ME want to make more of my branding type of art as vector files and do something similar!

 Having VECTOR files for art!? Black and White variants!? BRILLIANT! and they take up SO much less space!

 TRUELY! In fact, side tangent, in Psycology we learned this is actually how BRAINS even work!

  You see, when you remember something, you remember a tiny BIT. 

If that BIT is significant enough, it can lead to other bits into your brain that just logically make sense and your brain REBUILDS the entire thought!

  "Hmm, I think I needed to remember something....what was it..?"

Well it was probably something I interacted with....what's in my house?

what was I doing in my house--I was cleaning--thinking about the socks and thought abou--MY APPOINTMENT!!

  You brain really does have to retrace its' steps but it wont connect back if it wasn't something signifigant

It REBUILDS the thought everytime--WHICH IS WHY--when you say "Oh I remember it like it was yesterday..!" That's because you actually DID! 

 *it's 2015* "Ahh yesterday was fun" 

"Ahh last week was fun" 

"Ahh last year was fun" 

"Ahh last 3 years ago was fun" 

"Ahh I remember it like it was yesterday...because I thought about it yesterday, and the day before that..." 

"Oh remeber from 8 months ago? WOAH THAT FELT LIKE AAAAGES AGO!"

   Weird huh? Anyways Vector files REBUILD the art from the lines everytime instead of every thing bit of information. It's almost like the computer is literally DRAWING for you, except it has the simple instructions and this time it can "print" it out really big or really small

 All this sure is interesting huh? That's the difference between Humans and Machines huh? Generative Ai just doesn't have the same thought process, it can't have that "Oh wait this looks cool I'm gonna do it this way instead" moment. It's not like the .EPS file thinks "hey wouldn't it look cooler like this?" That's what makes YOU unique and special. YOU can think about that!

 Anyways this blog is getting pretty lengthy again huh?

 Ok, so recap..! 

 All the stuff from the leak is super cool right, I have the files and there's not much you can do about that, wah wah.

 But I want to LEARN and be inspired by them to teach other artists through things like this and maybe videos later down the line. I really love looking in depth at things like this and I think formats like a blog are much better than my ramblings. 

 I really try to make them very user friendly and eye catching but I think it's high time I make a bit more expressive GIF faces for these at times.

 How cool is it I can easily edit these at any time to swap out heads to be updated GIFs? LOL!  OK OK, now I think I'm REALLY done. I really love making these and think it's a fun way to share info rather than brain dumping threads on twitter and stuff. It's more fun for everyone huh?
