i have wanted a cat for such a long time… and i have never had one…
until now.
for context i tend to be allergic to certain cats!! and so does my father… who also hates them. #fairs
anyway dat dont matter cus my parents got DEEEEEVORCED! and my momma decided we could adopt a shelter cat if i took care of them entirely. it honestly took a lot of convincing because my mom viewed it as a sort of reward— which isnt true at all!! animals are responsibilities. i was completely okay with taking care of the cat, because thats why i wanted a cat in the first place. since we moved i have a lot of anxiety and i’m not attending school anymore, and i find myself doing a lot of nothing and just genuinely being down. i wanted the responsibility.
i did all the research, found a reputable shelter, scheduled a phone call and visit for a cat named marius who had caught our eye,,,
isn’t he cute?
anywho, the visit went GREAT! the shelter worker was amazing and we got to meet and learn about every single cat. we spent a lot of time in a certain room with a certain cat towards the end of our tour…
she was so tiny and grey— that was the first thing i noticed— and then i noticed her eyes!
they were GREEN. SO GREEN. the grrreeeeenest eyes i had ever seen. the worker introduced us to her; she hadnt been at the shelter very long, and was only a year old, but when she got to the refuge she had KITTENS! POOR BABY….. even worse is that she was abused in her last home: given kicks and had rocks thrown at her, just really cruel stuff. she didnt trust anyone and didnt let the staff get too close to her.
and then.
she let me pet her! like REALLY pet her! she circled me and started purring!! she was so freaking cute?,?!., the worker was like well damn let me take a pic of this or no one will believe me!! and then the kitty did the same with my mom!! she totally vibed with us!!!
we left shortly after and it was amazing. we thought long and hard for about a week, and decided we were going to take her home instead of marius…
we got her last wednesday,,, and shes been really chill this week that shes been here!!!
please meet:
since she has been here i have learned:
- she prefers to sleep under furniture than on it
- her favorite spot to be scratched is on her jaw and in her ears
- she is a GLUTTON!! and YELLS when we are in the kitchen!!!
- will lick my fingers unprompted
- takes turds twice her size
- big fan of tv… no matter whats playing.. but prefers bird or gerbil videos…
i love love love her. i am so happy! and i love taking care of her, im so happy when shes happy.
i love love love my cat…

AWW, SHE'S SO CUTEEE, and wtf it breaks my heart when animals are abused...what a scum those "owners" are. i am so glad she is comfortable with you, this is so adorable! :D
animal abusers gotta die… no animal no matter how big or small deserves unnecessary harm like that… i love my kitty so dearly and im also very happy shes happy with me!!
