God, War & Humanity

"If God actually existed, he would put an end to the wars and come himself to help the people."

I can't see how a God who is all-powerful and allegedly loving could see people suffering and yet take no action. the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Israeli-Gaza war, and the civil war in Sudan. Ordinary people have been killed, uprooted, separated from their families, and have had to endure things about which they never asked at all.

If God has the power to put an end to all of this, why doesn't he?

I also have difficulty with the notion of a God who punishes people just because they do not believe in him. To me, that appears extremely narcissistic. If God knows everything and is truly all-powerful, then what possible reason is there for sincere disbelief to result in eternal punishment? I didn't choose the things that I find convincing, and I cannot just force myself to believe in something for which I don't actually believe.

It is commonly believed that everything happens for a reason or that suffering is a part of a larger plan. However, I must admit that I don't find that explanation convincing. What possible greater purpose could there be in a child losing their home, a family being split up by war, or an innocent person being killed in a conflict they had no part in?

It's possible that there is no supreme being keeping an eye on us; we might just be here attempting to understand a world which has no fixed meaning.

Which is the reason why I do not believe in God. I am not saying that I have all the answers; I just can't see any sufficient reason for thinking that there is somebeing above us who is in control of everything.

I'm open to criticism though I don't really care all that much :p
