Hey everyone!
I hope you are all doing fine. I haven't been here for a while now. Life's been really busy.
I'm trying not to just expose my whole life to the internet, lol, but in short words: we had to put one of our cats to sleep (she was old and sick), my parents came to visit for a few days (which was fun), I had a mental breakdown at work, our TV broke down and we had to get a new one, I've had a lot of mental stress in general because life is life, and yeah... There hasn't been any major life altering events, it's just been a lot of small stuff piling up on eachother.
I've seen a lot of blogs here about how people are leaving SpaceHey, which I think is kind of sad. I really wish we could keep this place alive. I know there's a lot of bugs, bots and creeps, but still... I really want to keep this place going.
If anyone, who's contemplating to leave, sees this; may I ask why you want to leave? No judgement at all, I'm just curious.

I'm so sorry you had such a hard time lately. I'm sure your cat was a lovely one, may she rest in peace.
I think the problem is that people aren't used to reciprocal interaction anymore, as social media just gathers followers who interact with your things but you are not interacting with theirs in return, or we just passively consume things. SpaceHey needs you to step up, talk to your friends, check their profile, blog, reply to bulletins and maintain the friendship, as the site is intended to work on a smaller circle base. Many people come into it with the typical follower mindset in mind of you interact with my stuff and are interested in my life but I'm not giving any interest back in return mindset. Then they get surprised that they don't have interactions on here and leave

Yes, you are very right. And that's exactly why I love this type of social media. The modern social media isn't "social" anymore, and I think that's very boring. But, honestly, I'm not trying to make it social either. But that's because after not interacting with some friends on social media for a long time, I feel like it would be weird if I randomly started doing it again, like they might think I'm weird.
But I certainly miss the times where we did comment on eachother's posts, when social media wasn't just a bunch of algorithms and "recommended for you". I mean, I rarely even see my friends' updates anymore.
I saw someone saying "modern social media is tricking us into thinking we're social, when in reality we are just becoming less social", which I think is true but quite depressing.

Yep. Reality can be quite unceremonious unfortunately. That's why I enjoy spacehey, just missing the feature to see friends blog posts since now I keep missing stuff and don't even know

I know, Im not the person this is directed at, since Im not leaving any time soon, commenting regardless! ^^/ (i heard people complain about lack of moderation and reaccuring bugs and what not, but thats only what I have heard, so idk, there might be other miscalenious reasons mixed in)

Ah, yes, imo we should be able to survive the bugs. It's sad there's no mods etc, but still. I really like this place. :(
