still alive. things i've been up to: none

translation work has run so dry i sometimes forget i'm still technically "hired" by the publisher i work at. (it's gig-based yknow blah blah blah)

been staying afloat by not doing anything, not asking for anything, and not going out, at least not to shop. the power outages are crazy and it goes out for six hours in the afternoon every day so every day is wasted on nothing anyway. it's hot as balls and everything is chaotic but what's new. that's not new. it's starting to get on my nerves though.

some of my family came back after over two decades of living in various countries around the world but mostly in asia, africa, and europe. my cousins are nice enough and very polite but they're teenage boys and teenagers are always scary. aunt is very bossy and has basically had her brain fried by ai. they're staying in my house for the moment while they paint theirs and buy beds. my grandparents are also here and it's been so chaotic. i'm okay with having them around but i hate having people in my house and i miss being home alone with my mom so much. my kitchen is not big enough to make food for a family of seven, okay? i'm so glad i'm an only child with a single parent. i think if i had a big family i wouldve died already.

we finally got some stuff we had to leave behind when we moved, namely two bookshelves, my mom's sizeable book collection (mostly plays cuz she went to theater college :P), a coat rack and a mirror. all wrought iron. i love wrought iron furniture!!!! my parents made most of these bc iron is one of the things they worked with when they were together. i'm very happy that we finally have that furniture back.

anyway, that's all. as for media i've gotten into the tick recently. both the cartoon and the live action versions. very fun! totally recommend if you like campy superheroes and parodies. haven't listened to a lot of new music and instead i've been focusing on listening to my entire music library in order of duration during the power outages. almost done with that!!
