Long time no blog...

Welp. Sorry for dipping yet again, my life has been horrid lately.

Don't have much to say other than I'm not dead (yet), and I have been reading a stupid amount of Punisher and Daredevil comics these past few weeks. I'm resetting my schedule to be a little tighter, and hopefully have less just bleeggghhh going on in my spare time. I'm hoping that means I'll go back to semi-regular blogging.

I've been getting my journaling ecosystem back together and I'm really having a lot of fun with it. I go through these "molting phases" as I call them were I feel like I'm spending too much of my time on a screen (my average daily screen time excluding texts is about 35 min. I am a crazy person), and then I remove something else from my average use. I think letterboxd is getting the axe this time around. I'll still keep my account so I can see what my friends are watching from time to time, but I don't know, it just feels so performative now. It's been nothing but one liners for a long time, but it's gotten to the point where I have to really dig to find an actual review. And if you know me, than you know that I think almost all of the internet is performative, this blog is performative, but letterboxd just really feels like something I can do without for awhile. I plan to buy a notebook (I actually ran out of my at home stash... I thought the day would never come..) and use that to keep track of my movies and such. Gives me something to do, and I am working out a new movie filing system based on something one of my friends is doing to her books, involving color coded dot stickers. I am obviously very excited about this. Plus whatever I write will just be for me. What I wanted to remember about the movie, or my honest feelings on it. Sometimes on letterboxd I feel like I have to word things nicely because I have had a few people actually get upset at me for what I've said there. Like sorry guys, I still stand by what I said, Saw X is a boring, incompetent, racist excuse for a movie. I don't know, I'm just very excited to be back doing almost everything on pen and paper. It just feels so much nicer.

Anyways, I have to go now because I'm going to a late showing of Akira last minute. I am trying to work on being to rigid and a "stick in the mud". Usually I would panic about doing something that is not written down in my planner at least two weeks in advance, but not today! Oh no sir! I am being very DJ Normal about the whole situation! (I am not.)

i can understand that, tbh letterboxd has always been more for me just to keep track of the movies i've watched and rated rather than reviewing cus organization gives my brain dopamine :))

also YES i feel that being spontaneous just doesn't come to me easy. Akira is also an awesome movie hope you enjoy
