I've been talking to this guy recently and we've gotten pretty close these past 2 weeks. I've been wanting to get into marvel for the longest time now and I never knew where to start. Lucklyy he came in clutch and has been helping me watch the films in order before doomsday (˙⩌˙)

Anyways here's me trying to form an honest opinion on all the films I've watched so far in order.

WARNING ⚠️ SPOILERS

1. Captain America: The First Avenger

I might be biased since it was the first film I watched but I genuinely rly liked this film. 

It covers the Captain America lore really nicely, and the switch between the time during the war to modern age threw me off which made it 5x better. Honestly a perfect way to start watching Marvel as it shows the discovery of the tesseract and shi. 

I absolutely loved how it was written like a movie from that era as well which really puts you in the timestamp. It has that bit of WW2 diary kind of feel too yk? As u get to see a "weak nobody" turn into a hero soldier. 

The only thing that confused me a little was the role of the love interest. She's seen to be part of the army and shi but she doesn't fight or contribute to anything?? The most we see her do is command the newbie soldiers in the begining and deal with sexism while doing so. It would've genuinely been sick asf if we got to see some action from her. Then again this is the 1900s, plus the scene at the end was cute asf. Idk what happens to her in the later films but I hope we get a meetup between Captain America after the coma and his grown up love interest. 

Also why was he so oiled up when he came out of the chamber?? Get that man a bra or smth jesus (°ロ°)

2. Captain Marvel

I'm gonna be so honest with u guys for a sec. I barely got the point of this film fn. I'm hoping that she re-appears later in the franchise tho. 

In the meantime we get more lore on the tesseract aswell as some lore on Nick Fury which is sick. 

She also gets this sick character development atleast where she's slowly getting her memories back and finally getting the full picture of her backstory and how she ended up where she is, she completely turns 180 on the StarForce tho once she finds out what had happened which I found strange considering they've been with her ever since the crash. Idk I feel like she got over that rly quickly for sm reason.

Anyways this film also reminded me a lot of Devil May Cry. There's a similar situation where Carol aswell as Lady realize that they've been painting innocent refugees as villains which makes them question their own morals and shi.

Overall I was abit confused most of the time, then again I was watching the film while I was working so that might've been my fault.

3. Iron Man (1&2)

Say it with me now, WE LOVE TONY STARK!! He's so unserios in both films and throughout the franchise. The films also made me realize how many memes this guy has. He's a self-centered nepo baby but atleast he's not out to get anyone. Also can we mention how smart and dedicated this guy is despite his arrogance at absolutely everything?? Usually nepo babies aren't as good as their ancestors but Tony clearly knows what he;s doing atleast. 

Lowk I wish we had a little more screentime of when he got kidnapped and had to work with Ho Yinsen. I feel like Yinsen was especially underappreciated considering the fact he literally saved Tony stark by giving him a literal heart equivalent. Also, considering the fact that his weapons were used against him which literally changed how Tony stark felt about what his and his father's work has brought to the world. Idk I feel like there had been some missed potential there but then again they had a 2hr timeframe.

A little bit off topic, but as a tech lover, I was absolutely obsessed with the kind of setup Tony had. He had like atleast 3 AIs in that laboratory and yet he still kind of did most of the work. THIS is how AI should be used ok?? As a tool, not a replacement. I'll never be completely against AI cause I know that if it was used correctly it could do wonders, all we need are some restrictions so that people don't get too lazy and half the people don't lose their jobs yk? (His suit design was also kind of made by AI too if u think Abt it) 

Second film was also pretty cool although I prefer the first one. It gives us more lore on how Tony's father got to where he was aswell as abit of insight to Tony's childhood. Ivan Vanko's suit design in the begining of the film was also sick asf, I'm obsessed with electric whips design and I love how it was portrayed. Also found the whole thing of pepper becoming the CEO kind of strange. Then again, Tony would be the kind of guy to take part in nepotism. (¬_¬") 

4. The incredible Hulk

The film is rly well made, I got mixed up between the characters from time to time but then again that's kind of my problem for not having the best facial recognition when it comes to grown men. But fair warning that hulk's actor changes after this film which got me even more confused when I watched The Avengers. 

The plot is rly nice, there's kind of a soldier vs scientist kind of thing which is cool. Everyone had pretty clear motivations which was what made the plot move. Apart from that the film didn't really speak out to me compared to the other films. Not bad, but mid overall imo.

5. Thor

I LOVED THIS ONE!! I loved how it was more fantasy based compared to the other films so far. Loki is an absolute snack (˶˃𐃷˂˶)

I also has an amazing final message Abt how "with great power comes great responsibility." And how not everything comes for free. U cant destroy ur way to the end goal. Amazing message.

Love that they managed to add kat dennings from 2 broke girls. Although I didn't exactly get why her character was even there to begin with. Sure she gave comic relief but apart from that she had lit no real purpose to the plot.

I genuinely have no clue why SHEILD had to get involved when the hammer came tho? Maybe later on in the film it might've made sense for them to step in but I feel like they didn't need to step in when the hammer appeared. 

Anyways thor is absolutely a gorgeous hunk and we love him and his Shakespearean tendencies. Love the introduction to a new fantasy genre in the marvel series.

6. The Avengers

Jesus Christ what a film. Everything I had watched at this point all lead up to this film. Loki's return did feel abit strange but then again it's the kind of thing he'd do. I also found it strange why everyone decided to be against each other even after realizing they're trying to achieve the same goals. And even throughout the film except till the end everyone was just disrespecting each other.

We also get reintroduced to black widow (shes seen briefly in iron man) and Hawkeye, who got absolutely robbed in this film. He was immediately painted as a villain at first which ruins ur perception of him entirely until the end. We needed more Hawkeye screentime.

Some of the actors also end up changing, Mainly Hulk's actor. This ended up rly confusing me but in reality there's nothing to do Abt it so I cant say anything.

Anyways Black Widow is hot asf and the gay tension is crazy.

7. Thor: The Dark World

This was one was abit boring overall. I'm hoping that it's plot with later affect upcoming films but I doubt it as it barely did anything I can see as relevant. 

Again I barely see why Kat's character and the love interest's professor was relevant to the plot other than just comic relief. Love that we actually get to see some more pure emotions from Loki along with some teamwork between Loki and Thor. Love some brotherly moments.

I'm also guenuenly confused with SHEILD again. Where tf r they when they see Thor again "kidnapping" a person?? Hello??

Anyways we get to see the love interest get to interact with Thor's family and Asgardian culture ig. Very nice. RIP Thor and Loki's mother. Loki was such a Mama's boy clearly he was so sad when she died :C she was guenuenly the only person who actually seemed to care about Loki despite everything he's done.

8. Iron Man 3

OK THIS ONE WAS NICEEE. I love how we actually get guenuine trauma attacks after what happened in The Avengers. I feel like people skip out on that when in reality every normal person would be traumatized after being in near danger like that. 

I also LOVE how we got to see more Pepper action. We saw Tony being so scared of getting Pepper hurt and trying to protect her when she also ended up protecting him aswell. In the end, they're both trying to save each other and I think that's sweet asf.

The whole villains plot confused me a little. I kept getting mixed up with the characters but in the end I think I got it. I find it abit hard to follow some of these plots but then again I think that might be a me problem.

Also, not a big fan of the whole biology and people self-destructing thing. I found the whole thing abit scary. That's also just me tho I have a terrible fear of detailed biology and body abnormalities. (Its not even funny I've had panic attacks a few times I almost ended up in the hospital once)

Anyways I love the whole revenge plot. Although I didn't get why some people decided to help the main villain through the whole thing.

THAT WAS IT. That's everything I've watched so far and my honest opinions. I'm not a film expert or anything so take everything I've said with a pinch of salt. I'm just a teenage girl with nothing better to do. :P

I'll be watching the guardians of the Galaxy next hopefully. I've been stalling recently as I'm currently in paris. (Its a crime I know).
