I collect mostly mtg and sometimes tamagotchi trading cards, and I usually collect them based on the art and not price/how they work in game (although sometimes I do play).
my greatest pulls recently (pulled these for mostly my dad, some were my brother's) are two force of will full art (one of which was foil eeeee!!), cyclonic rift full art, elektra comic book card, and gleaming splendor book cover version WITH SURGE FOIL?!?!?!??!
my favorite cards I have rn are eternal dragon, sp//dr piloted by peni, archenemy's charm art card, and hades sorcerer of eld signed art card :))
(bonus..... I have fire magic in my phone case because vivi!!!)

I have very little experience with card games or card collecting, at least not any experience that doesnt have to do with 10 year old me and pokemon cards. HOWEVER, as an artist and someone who is big into art culture, I'd like to ask if there's any specific artists that you follow/ became a fan of because you were exposed to them through a card's art. I've always seen that an artist's name is usually credited on a card and wondered if anyone else took interest in that.
I used to collect Pokemon a TON in elementary school lol!! and sometimes yeah! it wasn't an art card specifically but I actually got really into junji ito's work after discovering him through his secret lair drop :)
