THAT part of fandoms

This is more of a complaint than anything else, I'll probably delete this, but I NEED TO COMPLAIN, OK?

I don't know if anyone else feels like they can't stand the fandom of something they love so much... mm idk... but for example, metal band fandoms, where, like, maybe the band isn't that well-known, and in terms of the public's work (as a fandom) there are very few (seriously, very few) that are worthwhile.

I mean, to get to the point, in my case, it happens that literally 90% of the fandom's "memes" are about yaoi and shipping members of the same band. Or when the so-called memes are only related to a really lame ship, or 2021-22 Pinterest humor (for example, like kny fandom humor).

(To clarify, the other 10% are the people who collect photos, find interviews (if they happen to be available, lost media), usually tabs for those who play guitar or drums, and tend to discuss the music, and surely (although buried among many others, some good meme) and everything else.. well...

WHICH, LOOK, I'm not saying it's wrong, in every community/fandom there will always be that part that likes to pair a certain member with everyone, and surely we all have a favorite ship between them. But the fact that the entire fandom is literally like that is honestly uncomfortable. It bothers me even more when they literally only ship members because they're "attractive," and they DON'T EVEN LISTEN TO THE BAND'S MUSIC. It's like, WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE SHIPPING THESE PEOPLE IF YOU DON'T EVEN LISTEN TO WHAT THEY DO?!

And for those who say things like, "Oh, but don't be in the fandom," "Don't pay attention to it," "Just ignore it," blah blah blah.

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT IN A MUSIC FANDOM ALL THERE IS IS

"x for y," "THEY'RE SO CUTE," "Isn't there a fanwork of this in AO3?" "I need a yaoi/yuri of them" "MY DADDYS"

AHHH but they don't talk about interviews, the music, problems related to it, if any member is problematic (regardless of whether the person is dead or not)

AND NO, I'M NOT planning to leave the fandom BECAUSE I DO enjoy the music, and DON'T ask me for a real problem either, I just wanted to complain about this.

(I want to emphasize that I don't think it's wrong to ship members of certain bands, just in case, and I don't have a problem with these people either)
