I made a fully driving car script in Second Life recently. You might be disappointed in me for this but I had to use an AI to teach me how vehicle LSL scripts work (No "vibe coding" was involved, I still had to use what I learned for myself, I specifically asked it to only tutor me on the functions and in 1 week's time I finally understood how it all worked, I refuse to let a machine do my thinking for me, they're only meant to be used for learning, not as a replacement for a brain), there's even less help resources these days for that language (outside of pixelated 240p YT videos that lead to dead LSL help links) because most of the scripts and examples are gatekept by greedy tribalistic old reptiles who don't want to see their profits shrink and take half your money with licensing agreements if you dare to credit them (ain't capitalism great? I know why they do it but it's still dumb). So I figured "You know what? Fine, I'll do the dirty work myself". Rather than see noobs in Second Life get trolled by selfish assholes with a bone to pick, I plan on making a free set of examples that tell others some basic programming knowledge so they can get started too. I really hope they'll like the crate full of beginner examples I want to leave eventually on my land. In the mean time I have some headlights and signal lights to finish! I'll get to it.
Entry 2 (09/09/2026):
The LED headlights now work perfectly! They've been engineered to toggle on and off remotely or by clicking the driver's seat as the owner. Today's project will be to get the rest of those rear lights working. Now I need to make it so the braking and reverse lights work back there and then this thing will finally be road worthy.

Oh wow, congrats! And that’s pretty nice of you to share that knowledge ^w^
Second Life is on my “to play” list, I had no idea you can make scripts and that stuff :0
Yup, you can! Besides being a social hangout people can also make and sell avatar parts and accessories, make their own HUDs, there's virtual pets you can take care of, thingies you can collect. It's a great way to pass the time if you like making things or playing games. People there also do dance parties with DJs and stuff, it's pretty fun. ^w^

And thanks! Even with the references to look at the coding was still a lot of work. Once I did figure out how it worked though, I was able to do lots of it all by myself recently without looking at the examples, I was so proud of myself.

Oooh, I’ll play it definitely, sounds super fun! It’s like a second li- oh, so now the name makes sense, lol.
That’s how learning works, seeing people learning really encourages me to learn new things too, so, thanks for sharing! :D

P.S if I want to play what do you recommend? Like how to start playing and how it works etc.

If you do decide to play, you name your avatar, then you log on using a client (I recommend Firestorm), pick out an in game currency earner game like Crystal Craze or a fishing game, then you can start building up your character. You can also play games like bowling, race around tracks against other people, and I think besides those games they also have Rubik's cubes, Tetris, Duck Hunt, arcade games, etc. I would definitely recommend visiting one of the arcades on there, those have all kinds of games you can play!
