album req: S.C.I.E.N.C.E by Incubus

Right before their commercialization (no hate on make yourself, it is good in its own right) Incubus emerged from a funky, experiment debut into a more sonically mature, Nu and Funk metal fusion. In my personal opinion, this is where Incubus peaked. Brandon gives a unique, melodically rich vocal performance- while the guitar and bass reach the height of talented experimentalism. Funky and groovy beats, intriguing melodies and surprisingly optimistic, well spoken lyrics of inspiration while some how maintaining a conviction that doesn't come off as tacky or preachy.
