how do i make the melody for a song

I write songs sometimes, I play the guitar too, I'm not the best but eh it works

I kinda struggle with finding cool chord progressions, I have found a couple but not any that sticks out to me, anyone got tips? I like dark tones to my songs honestly so if anyone could possibly help figuring that out that would be great yaysies
