So, I've gotten really really really into tf2 recently, if you couldn't already tell. I am a huge fan of the characters and the gameplay, and it really feels like the essence of pvp.
I'm also a huge Marvel Rivals fan (shortened to mr from here for convinence sake), and the diffrence is STRIKING. Often, in tf2, I'll find little games full of people who just mess around, dancing or running around or generally just having fun. I NEVER see this in mr, and I feel like it's a clear sign that the two fandoms are not on the same level.
The mr fandom is just sooooo rude, everyone there is trying to either be the absolute best and own everybody else, and some are just trying to have a good time. I don't blame either, and I've been switching between the two for a while. I'm mostly pretty casual, but I do want to get better (so that I can actually win more than anything lol).
Tf2 fans, while not perfect, are so much kinder and often much more chill. Sure, there are some who get toxic, that's absolutley not impossible, but even without voice chat the two are starkly diffrent.
I love both (and some other games like overwatch and splatoon), but I still feel like the most fun I have in these types of games is definetly playing Sniper or Scout, not in mr or splatoon or overwatch.
Thoughts? Ideas on how to fix the fandom? Any ways to still have fun in both? Idrk what I wanted out of this more than to just rant lol, but im curious on ya'lls thoughts

That's kinda how it is older fandoms are more kind due to being around for a long time and having a more closed off environment where they weed out people who are troublemakers and they don't like splatoon ain't as popular as marvel rivals EVERYONE plays rivals therefore there's PROBABLY 7x more toxic people on rivals than on something like tf2
Tf2 community ain't allat great tho either but yk
