Like something that cannot do without a tether
It wanders around aimlessly.
Watching as its vision whirls the world around its head.
Stopping,
Panting and dizzy
While the liquid in its ears just keeps rushing.
Maybe it’d do better with a collar
Some sort of a leash.
So that when it cannot push past a breath anymore
People could pull it up with all its pulp.
When it sulks, someone shall sneer:
Snatching at the leash
And leading it to a clearer path;
to a cloudless day. (But normally it’s too hot outside, anyway)
Usually no one ever ushers or utters
What to do
Or what to say
Or how to talk some certain way.
Though the leash is still there,
Just in case someone snaps
“Come along with me”
Lashing through all the clutter.
It whirls and wanders.
Multiplies itself into different facets
So it could swarm around its own swamp
Be able to fit in with the flies.
Buzzing and buzzing and buzzing and buzzing and buzzing and...
to resemble all the recursive habits.
Because it wanders around
like something that cannot do without a tether.
Straying back
to try and remember
how it felt to have
someone pull at the leash,
The way their fingers wrapped ‘round the handle.
To imitate the last thing that
Tugged at its neck
Pressing against its throat so that it shouldn’t breathe too easily,
So ungratefully.
To try to appreciate its own life
Through others’ will to hurt it.
All these words seemed so scary. They still intimidate me, they're blendind together and I just hated how my usual font and format looked, so I changed it to help alleviate the feeling.

Dear pantysniffer,
what a fascinating poem. I must say that I like your poetry for this - that it seems to be a way for your soul to speak about the things it scares. But I also sense want here: a need to be collared, to be lead through the confusion of the inner and outer world by the voice of authority.
There is beauty in shackles, in being held down by an outside force. To be limited, and finding freedom in the remaining narrow gap. After all, it gives authority and control - often daunting and terrifying if held by yourself - into another pair of hands. If they prove to be safe, to be able to hold what you cannot, it can be very liberating.
I might be wrong here, and I hope I did not offend.
You didn’t offend at all!!
I love all sorts of interpretations and I liked the ‘finding freedom in the narrow gap’ bit.
When I wrote this poem I was thinking about how I always return to the same topics or premise when I don’t know what to write about, and it feels like I’m just spiraling into circles without making any progress, like I cannot do without returning back to old habits or ways. So this poem did end up with the same theme as the others like this but I ended up making something I really like even if I lacked inspiration =D
The last lines were my favorite of this poem (*ˊᗜˋ*)

I believe this is about people pleasers who are used to pleasing a certain person which hurts them a lot but once they let go- the main character seems to dislike how their life is now safe and repeating same people. They look for that person again only to be left in a tragic end. Truly beautiful. You made this feeling magical yet tragic.
yyayayayyay i like this interpretation you get a gold star
But I didn't have this idea in mind when making it

Big fan of this stanza! Love the new font too, reminds me of a type writer. It fits your writing style.
I thought the font really fit this poem too ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ )
