Books!

Can someone help me? I want to read a book but I just can't bring myself to tear off the plastic packaging because I'm scared the book will get damaged, how do I get rid of this fear??? Please help, I have the itch for my books...

Also, before you judge too quickly! I live in a pretty corrupt country (Indonesia) and books here are expensive for me to buy more than once, I really like books but why does the main bookstore sell the books at a different price?! Since Indonesia is an island country, each island has a different price for the books, one of the main island is Java and that's the center price! If a book there is priced at Rp.150.000, the price in my part of the island is about Rp. 225.000 or Rp. 220.000?! Before you say, 'Online shopping?' I want to but most times it's cheaper buying it at the bookstore, even then... the books I want aren't usually there (at the bookstore)!
