Belladonna

Diamond encrusted dew glints
in dawn's first rays
embellishing velveteen moss,
mother nature's emerald gown
gleaming in 'chinked' light.
Her tenacious bark
encourages seedling creepers
plaiting its decorative leaves
acrid enchantment, devilled weeds
her beauty deceives,
infected by her vice-grip
leaving Weals and hives itch...
Viper's choking tendrils,
graceful leafy hands, pointy
in polished pearly fern,
gusty winds whisper
breathless words...
whip-lashed, rendered 'pot bound'
depleting the once hydrated hydroponics
wizened in bacterial ragwort
the veiny roots sprawling
in 'triffid' tendencies
slowly suffocating, consuming,
a bless-ed Curse.
oh Lolita, my Belladonna.
