not trying to change is your responsability

I consider myself a self-concious person, i'm always trying to be the better version of myself and want to be liked by everyone. This is obviously a problem since it causes me anxiety everytime i'm meeting new people despite being a friendly and extroverted person.

When it comes to my personal problems i only open up when i can't handle them anymore, sometimes i'm ashamed of them and feel "cringe" when i talk about them. I was talking about it with my friend and she said i should talk about them always and leave the shame behind. Thing is, i'm not sure if i agree.

I love sensitive people, everytime i meet someone and they show their vulnerability, i'm naturally drawn to them. But if i'm honest, sometimes people just hold on to their problems and end up using them as an excuse for being mean or annoying.

Sometimes you just have got to have some social awareness, like you can't just be trauma dumping to everyone you meet and just be a pain in the ass. I hate when you tell someone they did something wrong and they just excuse it with their mental health. Of course its understandable to explain yourself but girl you ow an apology to that person.

Explaining your backstory, your traumas and the things that made you who you are is great, but it can be dangerous to use it as an "excuse". At the end of the day, its your responsability to try to change, go to the psicologist if you can, stop using your phone all day, try to be more positive...

Dont get me wrong, i understand how depression works and i know that sometimes trying is impossible. But even getting out of bed means you did something with your life, writing about your feelings... Tring to "excuse yourself" by trauma dumping will just make it worse for yourself and the people around you.

So basically, be sensitive and passionate, talk about your problems with someone you trust and don't make anyone responsable for your problems if they aren't. Don't try to hold on to your old versions and your childhood, you are always changing and improving as a person! Remember to not give up on life.

I agree with this blog
Worse, i find it quite ableist for people to use their disability as caveats. It's like they cannot be past their conditions. I say this as a person with ADD and low conscientiousness.

I agree, getting a diagnosis can help you understand yourself better, but there’s definitely another side to it. I feel like a lot of people end up embracing that aspect of themselves so much that they wind up using it to justify bad behavior.

That's true, i fear alot of people turn it into a self fulfilling prophecy
