The Modern era post 2020 sucks a$$

INTRO:

   Not to sound like a broken record or like a whiny bitch but damn, modern day is so void of life. For 1 everything is going digital and physical media is slowly dying out. I've heard a lot of modern day kids don't even know how to put a CD or Disc in, that's unbelievably sad. Now some would say that "Oh our modern day technological advancement's have made life easier, now we don't need to buy CD's or use an Ipod now we can use Spotify or simply search it on youtube" WHICH IS EXACTLY MY POINT. Nothing has soul in it anymore and while yes it's more convenient to have basically a good portion of the wonders of the world on your couch in your hand on your phone instead of getting up and like buying a CD or some shit. BUT with that you lose a lot of the actual fulfillment.

PHONES:

This is just my personal opinion but I liked things when technology, especially the internet was limited. I say this because the fact you didn't have pretty much every distraction and form of entertainment in the form of your hand it meant you had to actually get up more often to do stuff. Modern day kids, teens and young adults have a crippling doom scroll addiction and tend to procrastinate more and go out less, at least from what I've seen. Why wouldn't they? they have everything they need in the palm of your hand. Before post 2020, like 2010s and 2000s most kids didn't have a crippling phone addiction where they cant be from their phone for more than 5 minutes without feeling anxious. Don't even get me started on IPAD kids, Ugh. Back then when phones were limited you wouldn't spend hours looking at reels. Again since it was limited you had to use your head to think of ways to keep yourself entertained whether that was going to the living room watching tv and seeing what was airing soon or going outside with your friends to screw around or if you were a little kid you'd play with the kids in your neighborhood. Now kids just get a phone slapped in their hand and are exposed to shit online that they shouldn't be seeing at a young age, and I don't think that's the medias fault depending on what it is but i think parents now a days feel its easier to slap a phone or iPad in their kids hands so they wont bother them. And i firmly believe this has led the new generations and even a bit of previous generations but mostly the younger ones to end up being zombies to their phone. I don't think it's most of the older generations like the ones who grew up in the 80's,90's,2000s, since they grew up without all this new technology to entrance them. and even some of the kids who grew up in the 2010s were raised on old media and old teachings from their parents who grew up in the 90s. We need to bring back old 2000s phones that we could decorate and use for the simple purpose to call and text people, a lot of people are stuck in a cycle and we need to free ourselves from the doom scrolling and Modern day social media, It's turning us into zombies. We need to drop the modern day shit so our brains can free themselves.

INTERNET & MEDIA Part 1:

Now this is a semi part two to the "Phones" section above. What i meant by "It's not the medias fault depending on what the media is" I meant like If it's a youtuber who said "Fuck" on a video then that's the parents fault for not paying closer attention or putting restrictions. But I mean if were talking about shit like NSFW content like the Hub then that's where i say it's at the fault of both here in a way, now I'm bias because i think porn is bad in general due to it like making you numb to that stuff so when you eventually find love and get intimate it doesn't feel as good since you've been seeing people do NSFW things for a long time and it's mentally numbed you to it (this is just my personal belief btw). And overall i think it's also the parents fault because you just let a phone do parenting for you. I just think kids being exposed to NSFW content in general is fucking disgusting and like shouldn't be able to access it any time they want because they have it in the palm of their hands but the main point of this section of my opinion is that if it's media like a youtuber saying things like "Fuck" or "Shit" on a youtube video then it's not their fault and the massive restrictions that youtubers have now after the whole Ad-apocalypse is dumb because this whole thing can be fixed if parents just did their job but if it's NSFW content as far as MY OPINION GOES both are at fault, but you're free to believe whatever you want on that last part I'm just stating MY OPINION, and when i say that NSFW content and P*** is bad I'm not calling anyone out or going on a high horse, we all have fallen into something at some point, I myself am not perfect I'm just saying i think its bad in general.

INTERNET & MEDIA Part 2:

Modern day Internet is so ass, let me explain. Maybe this all comes down to people but for 1 youtube isn't the same as it used to be, all of the OG youtubers have either Retired from Youtube, been cancelled, or turned out to be a predator, But there are still a lot remaining and some good ones. and some of the ones that quit or don't upload as much anymore like the man himself DanTDM is because they've started families or moved up in the world or bettered their own lives. And it's like I cant find any interesting shit on there anymore and I'm stuck finding the nearest 39:52 video to listen to in the background while i eat my food, It's terrible. Now I'm speaking from my own experience so if you have youtubers you still like great. But there are other ass things to like modern day internet trends such as...

• Memes
• CreepyPasta
• Myspace (Although spacehey is still pretty cool
• Youtube pranks
• MLG
• Semi cringey but wholesome challenges(Flip the bottle, manequin challenge, dabbing, 24 hour overnight challenges, or just overall shit you'd see back then when people would do shit with 2010s pop music playing)

Just aren't there anymore and if they are they're either ass now a days or dead or in very small numbers. I bring these up in comparison to modern day because I used to think some of those were cringe but they still made me laugh, MODERN DAY TRENDS AND INTERNET TRENDS NEVER MAKE ME LAUGH. i hate brainrot and all its brought on today's day and age, not to mention a lot of it is fucking AI. But no late 2000s to early 2010's emo creepy pasta scene core SWAG rage comic was THE SHIT. Was it a bit cringe? maybe, was it genuinley light hearted, funny and kind of a vibe to the point where it was fucking COOL? fuck yeah it was. WE NEED to bring all of that or at least most of it back, it was such a great era. Oh also old 2010s party music was the shit, same with the 2000s party music and music in general. But the 2000s music was the shit and so much better samew with 2010s and 90s music. Not saying there aren't any good songs now just reminiscing

TV:

Also modern day TV is ass, mainly because not a lot of people watch tv anymore, and what i mean by that is like they don't own a service where you sit back and listen to commercials while you wait for the latest episode of your favorite TV show to air. Now streaming services are the big thing which in my opinion feels soulless and like what's even the point like yeah things were not as easily accessible back then but it's like you have to admit there was a sort of rush back then when you knew the next episode of your favorite show or cartoon was going to air later on that day and then coming home and plopping on the couch and reaching for the remote after a long day and turning it on. while things are easier now in my personal experiences its taken the soul out of everything in life. Also old Tv shows were the shit, Like breaking bad or the walking dead. Also old cartoons were so much better, shit like COCO melon IS SHIT. and turning everyone and the youth into zombies. Also everything is PAINFULLY WOKE.

CORPORATE MINNIMALISM:

life doesn't hit the same anymore and not only inside but also outside with all this minimalist bullshit. Now everything is going modern and gray and colorless, instead of big play places in restaurants and a colorful pallet that was made in the 90's is all gone for some boring shade of gray and a pitiful excuse for a play place. even the places that are for kids like chuck e cheese which used to be the place I'd love to go to as a kid has been hit with minimalism like WHAT THE FUCK. And also going to actual restaurants and not just cheap fast food places don't even feel good anymore, used to feel colorful and 9 times out of 10 they'd hand you free crayons and a colorless paper of their mascot you could color.

FOOD:

Maybe its just me but food doesn't taste the same anymore, ever since life lost it's soul food just doesn't taste as good. Also the food in the 2000s and 2010s was the shit especially the commercials. Now it feels like I'm eating playdough and honestly EVEN PLAYDOUGH PROBABLY TASTES BETTER THAN THIS SHIT NOW A DAYS. It's terrible, absolute slop.

LIFE AESTHETIC:

Neighborhoods and houses aren't shit anymore every modern house and apartment always looks the fucking same with the same greyscale color pallet and loss of fucking life. The 2000s-2010's aesthetic on society as a whole was great, every house looked different and unique and wood floors and old 2000s carpet with that nostalgic carpet smell. Also THE SUN WAS FUCKING ORANGE I always remember the sun as fucking orange i feel like I'm going insane same with the warm incondescent lightbulbs in streetlights. Back then everything was unique, different, colorful, had soul, NOW IT'S ASS AND BORING. Hot Topic used to look scary and now It's boring as fuck. The grass was greener the sky was more blue and everything felt vibrant and so full of life and soul and it's gone. Also i miss the videogame collabs with restaurants and arcades and payphones and vhs and so fourth.

SOCIETY & PEOPLE:

Above I've mentioned how technology wasn't as advanced so we still had to use our brains to keep ourselves entertained and it made us get creative and more importantly got us off our ass. What from what I remember seeing and in some also doing. When you hopped off Xbox live on the old gen console or got bored watching tv or you got bored in general you'd go out with friends and also bring your console for a Lan party of some kind have sleepovers, pool parties and go places with friends and in some cases you'd bring your game over to their house if they had the same console. or you'd go out with your friends to go and look for slenderman. Now as for the stuff i either saw and or heard of and unfortunately didn't get to experience for myself were going to concerts with friends and get togethers and 2000s bon fires with friends. Or you'd go to the mall with your really good friends at least when the mall was cool, now its boring and shit. Also I guess I'm just talking about older people now but back then they were so cool, people i mean, fellow gamers who witnessed halo release and had 2000s experience, pretty scene, emo or general 2000s girls. guys you'd see being "Bro's" with and dudes that had the liberty spikes and side parts and were actually fuckin 2000s manly, Monster trucks and motorcyclists jumping over ramps kind of manly. oh and the generic movie 2000s college parties. Maybe I just watched too many movies as a kid but it looked like a life that was fun and cool. Also people wouldn't get so offended like they do now a days, people knew how to take a joke, not all people obviously but majority and cancel culture wasn't a thing and now you make one bad joke and your face is plastered on social media its dumb. now a days people hide behind all sorts of terms and crutches and have a victim mentality and now a days everyone wants to sue and cancel and ruin your life online for any small thing, and a lot of people are really political now a days and will like disown family members and unfriend you because you don't agree. Modern day It feels like a bunch of childhood stars or modern day streamers or content creators or celebrities are just turning out to be predators. Like shit why the fuck are there so many fucking predators like fuck, you blink and someone else is talking to an underage person it's degeneracy and awful how much more common it's becoming. I long for a time that no longer exists. Now that's not to say nobody can be like that now a days or you can't still find people like that, maybe it's just my area but it's rare to find someone like that or people. or the creepy pasta weird kids who dressed emo, all of it in general was a vibe, 2000s and 2010s and I hear the 90s were also cool like that to. Life still had soul to it.

GAMING:

Gaming is basically fucked, as of writing this there doesn't seem to be any new exciting consoles coming out to my current knowledge. like back then it was like you'd be excited for the new Xbox or PlayStation coming out, i mean the new CEO of Xbox seems promising which is good yes but still things just aren't the same. A few good new games have dropped like battlefield 6 and dying light the best and that new gears game that just came out but honestly that seems about it to me. Also with GTA 6 coming out with content locked behind $100 fucking dollars which is predatory as shit if you ask me, is only going to make the gaming industry worse. I mean how long until every gaming company starts charging outrageous prices in their predatory business practices for a game that DOESNT EVEN COME WITH A FUCKING DISC?????. At that point i might as well wear a nice dress and some makeup every time I buy a game because I like to look pretty when I'm getting FUCKED. Also popular gaming franchise Call Of Duty, it's fucking DEAD, and the old halo lobbies? FUCKING GONE. Modern day call of duty is so unbelievably woke and the campaign stories are straight ass. Some would argue " No one is stopping you from going back and playing the older games you love so much" TRUE except I'm what just not supposed to expect the literal GAMING company to make more good games? I know every company at some point has a bad one here and there but call of duty has had a BUNCH BACK TO BACK. Also do you want your children or your grandchildren still Only playing the same games you did because THEY STILL HAVEN'T RELEASED A BETTER GAME. Also ROBLOX is now considered a predator camping spot which is ass but at least minecraft is still around, and even though daddy Gabe Newell priced the steam machine at a fucking GRAND, i suppose all the old games and such like Gmod, half life and so much more are still around so it's not all bad.

STYLE:

Clothing styles used to be so fucking cool and now everyone wants to look the fucking same, same clothes, same haircuts, and I'm not saying no-one hopped on trends back then either, I'm saying the trends WERE SO MUCH FUCKING BETTER. Clothes, hair, physical media, ALL OF IT WAS SO MUCH BETTER. Also hairstyles, those were so fucking cool and the shit back then. but people all just want to look the same now.

CONCLUSION:

Life isn't the same anymore but the thing is we have the capacity to free ourselves from the invisible chains with social media and the he fact there hasn't been a memes in forever. We can all revert back to a better time if we really wanted to. Am I counting on it actually happening? Not really, but it's a pretty thought. After 2020 and covid life isn't the same, we need to bring back 90's, 2000s, and 2010's society and the way things were, physical media, and so much more. i hope it's some day soon but this concludes my blog.
