Nostalgia (a super long rant ofc)

Before I even start this rant, I just want to preface and say that I'm not one to talk considering that I was literally born in 2008, my entire room is hot pink and zebra print, i dress mcbling, my phones theme is mcbling, i listen to nostalgic music, and i eat sleep and breathe nostalgia. BUTT. with that being said enough is e-fucking nuff okay? We as a culture have got to move the fuck on eventually. There's only so many more reboots, sequels, live actions, and relaunches that we can take. Im not saying this in the sense that every remake and relaunch is dogshit and there's no place for them in this world because toy story 5 was good, king of the hill is good, the hollister vault launches are decent, and so on and so on. but what ever happened to innovation? what ever happened to new ideas? You can do whatever you want with nostalgia but its the fact that 9 times out of 10 its not even executed in a way thats DECENT. more half of the "y2k" kpop songs are boring and uninsipired. Im a fan of the 2000s but if you want to make 2000s adjacent music at least make it sound refreshing/authentic (ykwim). 

This isn't me saying that every single thing from the 2000s and 2010s was something ENTIRELY NEW THATS NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE because 80% of 2000s pop culture, fashion, and music is based around the 60s and 70s (because of the 20 year fashion cycle) just like how now in the 2020s we're on a 90s and 2000s wave because of that same 20 year cycle. its basically inevitable, but what separates us from then is the fact that in the 2000s they would take a little bit of the old, mix it with the new, and base it with the future. BECAUSE THEY WERENT STUCK IN THEIR WAYS. 

Honestly, I probably wouldn't even have some sort of issue with the 2000s revival if almost everything wasn't executed poorly. OR if we got WELL THOUGHT OUT NEW IDEAS. (not to say there isn't anything new, but its rare for something nowadays to be new, high quality, AND enjoyable. you can't have your cake and eat it too.)

And don't get me started on things meant for children. (yes im qualified to speak on this because i am a giant kid and childish) Kids today don't deserve half-assed remakes and live actions, low quality toys, and adults BEING ALL UP IN THEIR SPACES. They deserve to be in warm and inviting environments, have toys that aren't low quality undercover fetishes, age appropriate yet fashionable clothing, fantastical worlds to read about, and awe-inspiring tv shows and movies to watch. But no. Lets release The Incredibles 9 and Toy Story 27, market skincare towards them, dress them like adults, and give them slop as entertainment. All because we don't care to take risks and just want to give out the cheapest quality of everything because we dont gaf. 

All I'm trying to say is, nostalgia is perfect to have and there will always be a place for it in the world, but that can't be all that we're moving towards in the future. Nostalgic things aren't even bad to enjoy, hell I'm watching bratz fashion pixies right now as I type, but sometimes too much of something isn't a good thing. and SOMETIMES that SOMETHING is just absolute shit. If we're really moving forward with this nostalgia wave, then I need to see effort, I need to see commitment, I need to see thought, and overall just cool shit. AND NO NO NO NO NO NO MORE FUCKING LIVE ACTIONS.
