in my opinion, as a female who gets her period, and a feminist, pads and tampons should absolutely NOT be free. you need to here me out here..

if feminine hygiene products like pads and tampons are free, feminine hygiene brands like Always and many other brands would start using worse sorts of materials in them then they already use because they aren't getting profit if they're free, no profit means no funds for good and completely safe materials. Mold has already been found in always pads and you can search that up and find pictures, I personally ( a little tmi ) don't use always because I got a UTI from using them, no one wants to be punished for simply having a uterus, and i certainly don't have any other options to stop that bleeding, I'm sure as hell not spending 30-40+ CAD on a damn diva cup, I legally cannot get a job right now, also I wouldn't be able to get a job anyways because of my mental health. And this isn't just about me, it's about all the other people that can't afford to spend that much on a diva cup because they have to feed their children, they're disabled and struggling to take care of themself, or because they simply cannot get a good job or any job. I believe they should be cheaper since big brands can afford to lose a small amount of profit, but nothing in life is free or can be free.
