What is something in all the world that fascinates you?

Okay, be honest with me— is there something you genuinely love the idea of? Like, not necessarily something you do every day, but a concept that just feels beautiful to you?

I have friends who would say nature, theater, religion, music… all these things that feel almost bigger than themselves.

But strangely enough, I think I love the idea of love.

Love is such a universal want. Maybe even a need. And what I find so beautiful about it is that love isn’t just one thing. It has so many little languages and shapes, and somehow we recognize all of them.

There’s Eros— romantic, passionate love. The kind that feels passionate and hot.

There is also Philia— deep, loyal friendship. The kind of love that says, feels like just coming home to see your best friend is there waiting to hear about your day. It's sweet, like a bright and fun love, sometimes even filled with drama, but it's part of the charm

The love of family is called Storge— that soft, familiar love found only in family. The kind that can feel safe and protected.

Agape the love for people— unconditional, selfless love. Loving people simply because they are people, without needing anything back. The kinda thats sometimes feels a drift but can come back in a second after hearing a simple hello. Pretty much just watch hopecore videos on tiktok and youll understand.

There is also Ludus— playful love. Teasing, laughing, flirting, being silly just because you enjoy someone’s presence.

After that there is Pragma— mature, enduring love. The kind that grows roots instead of just sparks. Love that is built through time, patience, and choosing someone again and again.

Then there is Philautia— self-love. Which can be beautiful when it means caring for yourself, but can also become something less gentle when it turns into pride or selfishness.

And then there’s Mania— obsessive or possessive love. The kind that reminds me that not every feeling that calls itself love is necessarily healthy.

I think all of it interests me.

I’m quite the little lovebird myself; I like to believe. Not necessarily the type to fall completely head-over-heels every time someone catches my eye, but more the type to notice all the different ways love exists around me.

I love watching people care for each other. I love friendships that feel like tiny constellations. I love the kind of family love that feels warm and familiar. I love people who dedicate themselves to something bigger than themselves. I love those silly little moments where two people make each other laugh until they can barely breathe.

I think that’s why the idea of love fascinates me so much.

It feels almost starry and dreamlike to me.

Like love isn’t just something you find in another person. It’s something scattered everywhere— in friendships, in music, in art, in nature, in the people who stay, in the people who teach us something, and even in the way we slowly learn how to care for ourselves.

Maybe I’m just a hopeless romantic in disguise, but I think there’s something really beautiful about being able to look at the world and recognize love in all its different forms.

But what about you?

What do you find fascinating?
