“AI uSeS WaTEr” is the dumbest reason for hating AI

WARNING: I AM NOT PRO-AI. PLEASE READ THIS TILL THE END BEFORE COMMENTING

Sure, AI does use water to cool down its servers, but so does the entire internet. Water cooled servers have existed for years now, and even water cooled PCs aren't anything new. But I haven't heard anyone bash on people using Google services, or Meta apps, or other big platforms as much as AI, despite them also using water.

There are a bunch of other, completely valid reasons to hate on AI, the fact that it's trained on pirated material without the creators' consent, the RAM shortage, the data centers making noise right next to people's homes, the way it's polluting the internet with slop and is being shoved down our throats everywhere etc, all of which I agree with. But most of you decide the dumbest reason in the world, the water usage. Okay then, let's boycott the internet as well, because that also uses a ton of water, probably even more than AI. How many of you would be willing to do that?
