I have so many different series in my manga shelves but most of those series are not completed because they couldn't capture my interest enough to buy more than 2 volumes. So I want to take a break from dipping my toes in everything and stick with collecting the stuff I actually like. I will also update this blog and write on the headers if I'm done collecting it <3
•Death Note (completed!)
Just a few months ago I only had volume 1. I don't know what but something made me feel invested in the serie once again. Death Note was my first anime but it never had a special place in my heart. Though the more I look at the artwork and the story the more I regret not trying to collect the whole serie sooner. Especially the artstyle, maybe it's because of recency bias but currently it's my favorite artstyle out of all mangas I own. It looks so clean and detailed at the same time. Besides the artstyle characters like Mello and Misa have such cool designs that it is impossible not to love it. I currently have all volumes aside from 8 and 9. Yesterday I bought volume 7,10,11 and 12 but sadly the store didn't have 8 and 9. Not like I would have enough money to buy all but that's beside the point.
•Yotsuba&! (2 volumes left&waiting for Turkish release)
This is such a special manga for me. Sometimes when I'm stressed I just read one of the volumes I own and it always makes me feel better. This is the best slice of life ever written. Everyone should have a comfort manga/book/tv show etc and Yotsuba is that for me. I love how simple the dialogs and the artstyle are and its simplicity makes it easy to read when I feel down. I normally don't really like rereading stuff but I can never get tired of Yotsuba. Now that I hyped it up this much you must be wondering how many volumes I own. I only have volume 1 and 2 but you can't say "that's it?" because only 4 volumes have been released so far in turkish and volume 4 has been released very recently. (not in my local shop yet!) I actually was going to buy volume 3 yesterday but I ended up buying Death Note lol XD
•Chainsawman (waiting for Turkish release)
I'm currently caught up in the turkish release which is 16 volumes total. I don't like collecting long series but this one will be the longest serie I've collected once all volumes in my language comes out, dethroning my Banana Fish collection. For the serie itself, I'm so happy I started to collect it instead of just watching the anime and being done with it. The anime was good but the problem with me is that even though I enjoy what I'm watching I get bored. I guess I just don't like watching stuff. Like for this year, the only thing I remember watching without getting bored is Gachiakuta. It will always be manga>anime for me. Back to the topic, I really like Fujimoto's artstyle and writing. But for the artstyle it sometimes looks cluttered? I don' know how to explain it but whenever there is a detailed background it feels a tad bit much. I think I started to notice it around part 2 but I don't know if it is a problem throughtout the manga or just in part 2. Aside from my tiny problems with the artstyle I really like the characters. I don't have a favorite character in chainsawman and usually when I don't have a favorite character in a serie it is because I don't care about any of them but in chainsawman it is because I like all the characters. All of them are so interesting and I love the plot of this manga over all else.
•The Summer Hikaru Died (waiting for Turkish release)
I currently have 7 volumes. I don't know if volume 8 is released in japanese, english etc and I'm waiting for Turkish to release or volume 8 isn't out in any language but no matter which one it is I'm waiting for it. I'm really curious about how the story will end and once again I really like the artstyle (who could've guessed?) Actually the artstyle is the reason I got the manga in the first place. The anime also looks really nice but I never checked it out because again, manga>anime🙏🙏🙏
•Go for it Nakamura (completed!)
I have volume 1 right now. Both volume 1 and 2 was released in Turkish like a month or two ago so I went to google to check how many volumes this serie has and boom it actually only has 2??? At least it will be easy to collect. I usually don't like the romance genre but I like the simple artstyle and it being a bl makes it better. I hope one day there will be a gl translated to turkish but that happening still feels far away😓
Yeah this is all currently. I hope you have a great day/night and sorry for all spelling errors, I don't have the energy to double check.
