buses replace trains

i'm on the bus again. on my way to work but i've caught the one that comes an hour earlier because i want to get coffee. really i want a pumpkin spice cold brew but the cafe does not have pumpkin spice, so i'll settle for something else [i got a honey lavender americano with no cream].

there's an eclipse tonight, for me it is at 9:10 so i will try taking my break around then. they scheduled me earlier than usual today. 5:45pm instead of something sensible like 6pm or 9pm. i remeber the last luna eclipse in the spring i stood in the center of the baseball field by my house to watch it. the moon turned pink then so i hope it will turn pink this time as well. that time the eclipse lasted so long i had time to go to the gym and share it with the people there too.

i've switched seat twice on this bus ride already, three would be weird, egregious even, but i really want to. when i first say down i grabbed the first open seat which was next to someone reading a book, once several seats opened up on the other side of the isle i moved, a courtesy to us both so us strangers were not arm and arm with eachother. then i moved one seat over, so that the next person to need a seat would have an empty seat buffer between me and the next person. moving in seat over in the direction closer to the driver was a mistake because it was one seat closer to the smelly person on the bus. i feel bad, he probably does not want to be smelly and repel people. i want to move again but i wont.

next to the "NO PETS - SERVICE ANIMALS ONLY" sign there is a poem "sweet love poem #1

You were coming home from Teapachi

You were surround to me,

exuberant,

filling Cuyama Valley with

your loudest joy.

I was after you, taking

my sun lower than yours."

I don't know where those places are.

I really do not want to go to work today

I'm glad i don't have to clock in the moment i step off the bus

Yesterday the bus was 40 minutes late so i was 40 minutes late to work.

i was sitting on the bench when a weathered young lady came up to me "you have a dollar for me?" she said it so rudely and i did not have cash, so i told her "no?" she replied "then how are you riding the bus?" i said simply "bus pass" she replied "you got one for me?" i said "nope" and turned to my phone where i had better things to bother me that day. i guess she did not like my responses because she sat at the other end of the small bench facing me trying to make eye contact while blowing her flavored cigar smoke across my cheek.
