been trying to upload avatars on vrchat again AND OHHH MY GOD THIS SHIT IS TAKING SO LONG. thanks for taking up A FULL 85% OF MY CPU?
i've retried this 3 times now. maybe 3rd time's the charm and if it's not, i'm going to actually lose my fucking shit. whatever,

honestly depends entirely on what you're doing and what processor you're using, specs aren't everything. gaming is pretty easy for a CPU depending on the game and usually the load is much worse than, say, exporting a video so it's a completely different ball game. you'll have some headroom to work with, so it's no big deal
i assume that uploading a vrchat avatar is like exporting a video, so i'm going to assume it's one of the heavier tasks; a better cpu will make it faster but that doesn't mean your cpu is garbage. these things are literally designed to max the cpu to make it go as fast as it can reasonably, a complete upgrade wouldn't make it any "faster" or better, the CPU is still gonna work as hard as it can. it's just that the extra power lets it do more in a second.
all you can really do is just let it sit for a bit until its done. i used to have a garbage rig and exporting a video on that took like hours straight for just 30 minutes of video. it's normal. let it work, the poor thing is a slow thinker
yeapp T_T pretty much! though i notice my sister's pc runs better than mine and can handle much more workload, and i can't even play my minecraft modpacks anymore because it wont let me even load into a world T.T it would be so nice to have much more cpu but i willl have to deal with what ive got

the processor is not the only componet of the computer; each one is going to struggle depending on what you need it for. modded minecraft is infamous for being really heavy and memory intense; it's just as possible you are running out of memory just trying to prepare the world. but it depends on every situation
windows is an awful operating system, it probably contributes to most of old hardware running like ass, but if you want to play anything modern it might as well be your only choice. just work with what you have for now and don't be afraid to lower some graphics settings
i can't give you much advice without knowing any of your specs, so this is probably about as far as i can help you by guessing
