Lesbians, help me for the sake of Olympus

I know, the title is really weird. AND I’M WEIRD MYSELF, TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I kind of want to ask for your opinion.

I want to start my journey into visual novels. Basically, I want to make a short story where two characters just talk to each other, but I’m kind of afraid of doing something wrong, so I’d like to ask if I’m doing everything more or less right.

It’ll be a short mini-story about Melanie and Simonette. Melanie is a Victorian Gothic lady from France who recently killed her husband because of a crime he committed against her. Simonette is a young gardener who takes care of the garden at the mansion that belongs to Melanie.  The story takes place in an ephemeral era and doesn’t really belong to any specific period in history.

Melanie seems to have feelings for Simonet, but fears she will be rejeed because she is a woman; Simonet also has feelings for Melanie, but feels ashamed that she is attracted to someone who has recently lost a loved one (she doesn’t know that Melanie is a murderer).

The point is that Melanie invites Simonet over for tea during a rainstorm, and they have a heart-to-heart conversation there.

Honestly, I’m doing this kind of for myself, and before this, I only read, wrote, and drew yaoi. And I know that love is love, and there probably aren’t any major differences between different genres as long as there’s chemistry and feelings—but just in case, I’d like to ask for the opinions of people who know more about this than I do. Does this seem like a yuri setup? And doesn’t it feel like the stereotype of “Oh man, it didn’t work out with a guy, so now you’re with a woman”? I really hate that trope, and I’m afraid I might be repeating it.

Just in case, I’ll leave a few illustrations I’ve managed to draw!

I don't know much about history or clothing I'm sorry!!!!!!!!!!. So, because of my ignorance, they're out of time and space, because I knew something like this would happen. It's my fault т-Т

Thanks for pointing that out!!!!! :0

Wait. is the 18th century Age of Enlightenment? Does that mean i should rely on it more?

if you want to do so, do it. i personally think that its more original than a victorian scenario.
