Normally my mind thinks like a bunch of swarming bees
The thousands of bees in their hive
All desperately trying to figure something out
All buzzing.
But not today
The bees died for a just moment
I stand with water running through my hair
Small water droplets caress my naked body
Falling in between each curve and each fold
It is an intimacy that I have not yet received from another
Not yet.
I hear the wind slowly exploring the world
Making soft white noise as it travels.
I hear the laundry machine tussling dirty clothes
Like it knows that it serves this purpose.
I hear the water.
For a moment I was outside of my head
Like I’m a bystander looking at myself
Like I’m simply an object sitting in time.
Reach my hand out and feel a drop of blood run from my nose
It travels down to my thigh while staining my skin
My body feels panic as I continue to bleed out
I miss the water.
