my nerdy collection!!

i asked on a bulletin if anyone wanted to see this so...! here it is:

(most of these are bought second-hand unless mentioned otherwise)

i have been collecting these mostly over the last year or 2 while i had a job, looking through online, second-hand and local offerings, and for a few even going out of home town.

now... to go over the stuff!

-- the plushies!

the splatoon squid is my most favorite along with the puyo plush that feels like it has sand inside (they were bought online)... the kirby not so much but still a cutie (bought locally)

-- the handhelds!

there's quite a lot actually!! they're either nintendo (all modded) or chinese handhelds but i mostly play on the former

you'll probably easily recognize (closest to plushies, from left to right):

- black-blue New 2DS XL: my first handheld ever! got it in 2017 as a b-day gift. it's a bit beaten up but can probably be useful for, like... new 3DS stuff and recording i guess

- grey Switch Lite: my main handheld! it's a good portable and has lots of games downloaded, including emulated stuffs (mostly tico)

- white old 3DS: my other main handheld! very pocketable, very good way to play dual-screen games (my opinion is that you need a dual-screen device to play games designed for it)

- regular Switch: usually plugged into a TV, good for multiplayer/motion-driven (think ARMS or WarioWare Move It!) games

- red DSi: bought at a local gaming store. boots SUPER quick so good for very quick gaming. probably would love to tinker with it more tbh

the chinese handhelds (closest to camera) are Retroid Pocket Flip, Anbernic RG35XX-SP and Retroid Pocket Flip 2. the first one has a stick broken and i tried to turn into a server at one point (failed, battery dead presumably), the middle one is akin to a GBA SP that can play like. PS1 games i guess. and the last one is quite powerful, but honestly? since i own so many handhelds this would be the best one to sell at some point

-- the games!

i physically own some of the Puyo Puyo games, mainly 20th Anniversary and Chronicle. 20th is my FAVORITE game in the series, with good amount of stories, modes and extras (also i beat it like several times), while chronicle is moreso a novelty (ngl a mid game - it's an rpg where you battle enemies with puyo - which sounds fun but is actually underwhelming). it also has a good amount of goodies inside the case like adverts and an Arle sticker

megaman zero collection for ds is the most recent purchase, mostly cuz my friends are obsessed with megaman rn. slowly playing through it, and it is hard like they said! (doesn't help that i suck at megaman-esque games)

-- the other!

in the middle is a touhou album cd (Tokuiten no Kaibutsuteki Kanjou) that i bought this summer from a geek store in far part of Russia. there's also some DS flashcards - i own two DSPico's and mostly use the red one, as well as an old R4i-SDHC flashcard that i gamed with when i first got my New 2DS XL.

my shelf most of the time looks like this:

it houses some books (that i definitely touch) about japanese and 2k pop culture stuff (the posters below are from their preorder!) and a few adverts from the geek store i mentioned earlier. also a freddy fazbear fanta cuz yes

i believe that would be all! i do own some pins that i used through this college year but now they sit dormant... maybe i could show them some other time?
