How does someone who likes anime look?

I'm just here to vent or complain, whatever you want to call it XD

Because this is already the 100th person who has said this to me. That's right, I get so annoyed by this kind of person that I actually keep count. Why? I don't know.

(I treat it like an anniversary XD)

And honestly, I love meeting new people, but it really gets me down when they say:

WHAT? YOU LIKE ANIME? THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!

BECAUSE PEOPLE WHO WATCH ANIME ARE UGLY, WEIRD, SMELL BAD, AND HAVE NO SOCIAL LIFE!

And then they proceed to describe people or characters who literally look like McLovin, Sid Jenkins, Jeffrey (Class of '09), Denji (Chainsaw Man), Tomoko Kuroki, and Kara (Neet Girl Date Night), or use memes showing people or drawings to represent what “ugly” incels or femcels supposedly look like

Basically, people who aren't conventionally attractive or don't fit beauty standards

And I'm just like: why? What do you even get out of making comments like that?

People have even said it to me as a compliment:

Wow, I've never met a girl like you before. You're so unique and different! LMFAO

Or they say it as if it's a bad thing. I've even had people straight-up tell me that it's something only losers do.

And honestly, at this point it just makes me laugh because what does someone's attractiveness have to do with whether they like anime or not?

Where did they even get that idea from? XD
