study music

over these past few weeks, ive been trying to piece together a list of study - appropriate music. i spent most of last year studying exclusively to white noise, but my brain started associating it with finals panic and now it triggers a fight or flight response. i would love to hear recommendations you guys have in this 'genre'

i am looking for: calm, slow paced, instrumental music. it can have vocals, more or less in any language, as long as its relaxed

some examples i already have in my playlist: my kind of woman (mac demarco), scott street (phoebe bridgers), a bunch of adrianne lenker and liana flores, miracle musical, current joys

id appreciate any contributions, from friends and strangers alike. this is kind of also a way for me to broaden my musical horizons haha

sorry if you don't end up liking this but starflyer59 has always been my bestfriend while studying!!!

particularly these albums for me: the fashion focus, americana, and she's the queen, and gold

if you want specific songs: she was my sweetheart, you think you're radical, help me when you're gone, fell in love at 22, monterey (2 version: yellow album (self titled album) and she's the queen), harmony, you're mean, messed up over you, and everyone but me. HEAVY EMPHASIS ON EVERYONE BUT ME that song is peak

other songs from other bands: starting over (lsd and the search for god), dozen (alison's halo), jetpacks for julian (alison's halo), summers gone (an april's march), i don't want to lose this (ringo deathstarr), rilkean heart (cocteau twins), only tomorrow (my bloody valentine), kiss a girl in black (fleeting joys), love songs on the radio (mojave 3)

i hope this helps!!!! :)

Wave to Earth is your best friend for this, calming and chill music that I put on often, I have Love and Are You Bored? on my study playlist.

I don't know if this will help but my sister study with medival music and it goes well for her! Btw I just searched a song for you! It's called "Hurrian Hymn no.6 - c.1400 B.C." It's not actually medival buuuuut I've listen a bit to see if it could work out and at least it seemed relaxing for me :)

thank you for the reccomendation!! the problem is, i actually listen to medieval music quite a bit outside of studying so it doesnt really make my brain lock in when i need to the hurrian hymn is actually beautiful though, i am going to add it to the playlist! ive heard it before and its weirdly calming. maybe it will help get over the inherent stress of school lmao
