So a couple weeks ago my partner was telling me about The Freak Circus, and mentioned that one character's favourite snacks (aside from humans) are brigadeiros. I'd never heard of them before that, but I love baking and making snacks so I was excited to try something new.
I immediately started looking up how they're made, checking what ingredients I needed to buy... The instructions seemed simple; my only setback was that apparently condensed milk is near impossible to acquire where I live, for some reason??? That was pretty discouraging and it did force me to delay a whole week haha. While procrastinating I looked for homemade alternatives, and realized it's basically just thick caramel milk so it wasn't difficult to make. The real challenge was resisting the urge to drink it all while waiting for it to cool.
Anyway a day after I brewed my own condensed milk, I finally started making the treats. I'm usually decent at baking and such, but these didn't exactly turn out good. I'm not sure what they're actually supposed to taste like or where I messed up. They weren't neccessarily bad, just kind of bitter. Personally I liked the... unique flavor, but nobody else seemed to appreciate it. Since I was gonna eat the whole thing alone I didn't bother rolling the dough into balls or covering them in sprinkles.
There was only a tiny problem: I'd made a huge amount. Well maybe not huge, but definitely prepared for an entire family. Not one person.
...So I've been eating chocolate fudge all week. Every single day. To absolutely noone's surprise, my stomach hurts.
