Life.

Life is depressing, unfortunately true
It all seems gray, with nothing new
The days pass slowly, one after another
And nothing feels different from one to the other

The monotony that modern life has given me
It makes each day feel the same
All the stress, work, and everything in between
It makes me wonder if life has no dreams

Nothing made me happy like it used to long ago
The monotony in life made all my happiness go
I only noticed the thorns upon the rose
But I never noticed the petals as they arose

Life may be beautiful, oh it is
The sun sits in the sky, giving warmth and bliss
The trees rustle in the wind, singing their song
The rocks bask quietly as the day moves along

The grass moves with the wind, reminding me it's alive
The animals wander, watching with surprise
The clouds drift above, never knowing where they'll go
Yet they keep moving onward, putting on their show

There once was a donkey that looked like me, all the same
I chuckled and laughed as it wandered without shame
I watched as it walked and gently swayed
And then I realized, maybe that's how life is made

Life never disappeared, it was always there
In every small moment, in every breath of air
Giving up would mean losing all that life has
All the little moments that come to pass

It's full of small moments, of laughter and joy
Even the smallest moments are ours to enjoy
And so I realized there was still more to see
There was still so much of life waiting for me

Escaping life is not the solution, just give it time
It may be difficult now, but life can still shine
The ocean that sways, and the fish that swim
They all show us there might just be a way

I just want you to know, no matter what you may face
Life and its meaning never left their place
Even when everything seems faded and gray
There may still be beauty waiting for another day
