Lost Media

Just putting this out there and wondering if anyone else remembers something like this. And if not, feel free to share your own personal lost media searches if you have em.

Sometime in the mid-later 90's I remember seeing a segment on the local news at night about mysterious flying rods. Occasionally I think of it again and it is just one of those childhood memories that is so random but clear. 
I think it was on KOIN news in Portland/Eugene Oregon area, I don't know if it was specifically on April Fool's night or just some random night, but it was presented in a serious way and not like a joke segment.  I remember watching this on the old crtv set in our back room. It scared me at the time because it was just on our normal local news, and the anchors discussed things like whether or not these strange flying beings had always been around and cameras were only now capturing them or if they were a new phenomenon. 

Of course this was actually footage of moths and other insects flying captured in a slow frame rate. 
Also apparently there was a guy at the time sending out a demo reel of this footage to stations around the country, which would also be cool to see, but I think they were basically showing up on security cameras and stuff all over. Apparently this was a bit of a thing at the time of news segments like this. I've looked for similar videos to see if there is footage uploaded anywhere, but so far I haven't been able to find any. 


Anyway that's my own lost media that I go digging for every for now and then, not that spooky really but I am unable to forget about it.
