Jax From Digital Circus Is A Mess Of A Character

After the last episode of TADC, many people had some opinions, especially when it came to Jax.

( I will use she/her pronouns for Jax in this Blog, just so you aren't confused lol)

Jax is one of, maybe even THE most popular character in TADC. So after the last episode & the drawing that was posted by Gooseworks, many people were confused, maybe even unsatisfied with the result. Many critized that Jax took a lot of spotlight in the final episode & that Jax is prefered over the other characters.

And I cannot help but agree. 

With Jax being a self insert, I cannot help but think that's the only reason why she suddenly confirmed to be a transgirl. To be honest the way Jax has acted in the show made me believe she is more ftm (female to male)  than mtf (male to female), but that theory I only theorized after the Able episode.

Honestly with the way Jax acted I would've never guessed that she was trans. She was embarrassed when forced into a maid dress, yes people made theories about her having internalized transphobia which is a good point, but she kept making comments about "peak male performance" & pushing women down. Gooseworks even said on tumbler that she would be violent towards women.

I think what makes me not really understand the choice of Jax being trans is, that she is such a well written asshole. She would've been a really good cis guy that was an ass but as the show progressed we would see why she acted the way she did (the trauma of her home & flashback of pushing her mother). 

If we had more scenes like Jax had with Ribbit puttin a bow on her head, I would've definitely understood it better than with the 'hints' we've actually gotten.

Now, the trans experience is different depending on where you live, your family, your friends, your enviroment and in general if you are ftm or mtf. Each individual processes & accepts it differently, but I must admit I don't think Jax is good trans representation. 

I cannot speak of the behalf of Transwomen (please leave a comment if you wanna share), but I don't think this is the best way to represent transwomen, with that I mean the trans community in general. As I pointed out, I like Jax because she was truly a well written asshole & there is some misogynie specifically in the way Jax talks to or about women. I think we have better representation in media when it comes to Transwomen. Also kinda worrisome to think about the fact that Jax is Gooseworks self insert.

Ah well that was at least my opinion, I still accept Jax as a transwoman, of course. I guess I am just a bit... disappointed? I don't know.. the last episod in general was a bit meh..and Gooseworks answering questions on tumbler that seemed important and relevant for the plot didn't really make it better. I don't wanna say that Gooseworks is a bad writter, I mean she herself said she didn't expect TADC to become as big as it did and that it was just for fun and something she came up with in a short time.
