i feel like just from the title this is going to come off as misandrist but bear with me. i'm talking about a very specific group of boys, that from what i've heard most schools have and i know some girls do it too, but mainly boys. i'm not saying all boys who are "popular" (i hate using that word to describe people) have this sort of cruel humor, BUT there are some. the humor i am referring to is the humor that comes at the expense of people, usually women or certain minorities. the main thing i see with this type of boys is asking girls out as a joke. this is the most common little "joke" they pull and it's so incredibly rude. maybe i'm just sour about it because its happened to me. usually they ask people who aren't as "popular", considered "weird", or already get picked on. it's really just humiliating, most of the time their whole little friend group is standing back watching and laughing their asses off. that leads me to a different point, usually they wouldn't do this without their friends to gain approval from. i'd like to try and give these boys the benefit of the doubt and say that they wouldn't do this if their friends weren't there egging it on, but you never really know. anyways, the next thing i see from these boys is calling people gay. they mainly call other boys this but sometimes they'll call girls gay as well. i think this is actually pretty homophobic, using gay as an insult, implying that being gay is wrong or bad or weird, which probably means that's how they feel. usually their "jokes" stem from misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, and just plain bullying. there were a ton of boys like this in my old school. i remember once when was in history, a boy started talking about how there were "jobs for men and jobs for women" they he went on to say men jobs were ones that required competence and physical strength, while saying jobs for women are ones that require nurturing and caring for people. (also fun little story about this guy, i was talking to my girlfriend across the room from him and she drew something and i said "we should give him some lore!" and then that kid yelled across a loud room for us to not use the lords name in vain. he thought i said lord. 😿) another real life example i have of this is my brother. he calls me weird and gay all the time. his little friend group is exactly the type to torment girls. anyways, i feel like there are some other examples i have, i may put them in a post another time.
bye bye
