how are we meant to enjoy summer?

summer is a much-needed break from school for most, a chance to see friends, family, and go out and do whatever they want for 6 whole weeks (minimum). it is a chance to enjoy your life without the educational and emotional burdens of the school year.

however, with the current state of the job market, the economy, and the earth, it is impossible to do so.

climate change is causing a multitude of problems, including a preposterous amount of wildfires lighting up the world, killing animals, habitats, land, and ecosystems, also unbearable heat for us to go out in, and subsequent hosepipe bans (so no hot tub :( )

we also can't afford to go anywhere, if we can bear the heat, then public transport options such as trains are slowly growing in price, shops are extortionately priced, and any options to have a day out and do something (for example, a cinema, aquarium, zoos, etc) are extremely high-priced and at best, we are not able to do something like that often.

if we could get the money to afford these things, we would need a job. however, at our age (teenagers) it is practically impossible to do so without experience, and it is impossible to get experience for free or without previously having worked. whats up with that >:(

i suppose my point is that we should have more spaces for teenagers or even families that are cheaper, easier to access, and made for us.

also first blog post!! ooohh yyeeaaahhh
