does KDH deserve a second movie?

The recent sensation that hit Netflix's first-ever #1 box office hit, along with an estimated $18 million to $20 million during its limited two-day theatrical release was TRULY a sensation amongst all age groups. I mean I’ve seen people talk endlessly about it whether it be grownups on the internet, people in my class or my younger siblings, EVERYBODY WAS OBSESSED. Soo…let’s talk about the ending shall we?

But before that the movie itself. What made it so famous was how relatable it was. Aside from the demons and hunters and our face card jinu, the obsession of the fans over a group of people was very realistically portrayed.

It displayed the the obsessive and possesive nature of fandoms and the constant pressure on the idols to present something out in the world. Along with the people backstage who have endless pressure on their shoulders enough to make them a hunchback. Here, our manager, Pookie Bobby. It displayed the fandoms quick judgements without understading both sides of the coins which in real life scenarios unfortuantely leads to demise of many people’s careers. One small wrong move and YEARS of training, loads of money, countless sleepless nights, unimaginable diets all down the drain. Tho the protagnists of the movie don’t meet the same fate but we all know what the reality is.

Now if we talk about the ending itself.. I might get on the target of many people ,but I don’t think this movie deserves a sequel just with the story line of saving Jinu. That’s just too little of a motive. BUT if Sony does decide to produce the second movie (which I WILL watch if it comes out), they better find a good motive aside from JUST saving Jinu. Because there are only a few things I can think of for the second movie(aside from saving jinu and making a happy ending for jinu and rumi). 1. Securing the golden honmoon 2. Defeating and eradicating the demon underworld once and for all.

Only this. Nothing more. And for someone who is very picky about movies and series, I feel like this is too little of a motive to write a whole movie about. But if Sony does do it, then gurl, you do you. I just hope we don’t get anything repetitive.

I LOVED KPDH, but honestly i thought the movie should've been longer... which It was supposed to be!! The original had like 40 songs what the heck!! I didnt mind Jinu but i honestly thought It made Mira and Zoey feel like side characters to their own movie :( Rumi's backstory was completely shown meanwhile the only things we know from Mira and Zoey are from how its done.

My idea for a sequel (which Sony is gonna do bcuz Money) would be a more low-staked ones, maybe starting with the final fight as they finally close the hoonmoon and the movies continues focusing on just the three girls...maybe bring up Mira and Zoey's backstories...maybe them questioning what to do next, since their purpose has been fullfilled...i would eat that shit up.

Regardless, id like Sony to hop on the hype train to produce other movies that like KPDH show other, often misrepresented cultures! It could even be a "spin off", maybe african hunters or native americans, since a lot of cultures do have demons/malevolent spirits.
