"No Name Project"
A brother and a sister (twins) raise their kids together in a college town. oldest cousin is a junior in college; the youngest is in 8th grade. Brother’s wife abandoned the family, sister’s husband died.
Setting: Boston
Ezra Fraser
He's 46 and an EMT. He loves breadmaking and baking and generally being in the kitchen. Was left by his wife, Kaitlin, 10 years ago. At the time the younger of their two kids, their daughter Phoebe was only 4 years old, and the oldest, Darren, only 11. He ended up moving in with his sister and their family both to have a system himself as he tried his best everyday and to help out them.
Lena Picou
She's 46, and she's a physics researcher and professor at MIT. She loves gardening, and grilling, and spending time outside with her family, generally. She had a loving husband, Ernest Picou. A cajun man of such charm and wit. They were the type of parents that made their kids cringe at their affection rather than cry at their fights. Until, 8 years ago, he was given only 12 months to live after a cancer diagnosis, and it proved true. ever since, she's been trying to get back on her feet from the grief, and back into work and into parenting, with her brother's help.
Darren Fraser
He's 21 years old; he's a junior at Berklee College of Music and a songwriting major. He's a singer, a guitarist, and occasionally a pianist. His favourite genres are indie pop, indie folk, alt pop, and everything that goes from the national to noah kahan to hozier to conan gray to role model to the 1975. not being academic like the rest of his family makes him often insecure, but his college career has been going great. Until his two bandmates start dating each other... | he/him; cisgender; unlabeled.
Lily Picou
She's 19 years old; she's a freshman at Harvard University and decided on majoring in romance languages and literatures. A pick that was easy for her because of her father. She's set on studying his language as a way to feel closer to him, especially since he was both a Harvard alum and a Harvard professor. Generally, she just loves languages, and has always had a great mind for human sciences like linguistics. And she's always been a great #ally, but now that she's moved into the dorms, her roommate Julie Huang, the beautiful and funny philosophy major, has completely flipped her world around, and Lily doesn't know what to do with herself. | she/her; cisgender; pansexual.
Axel Picou
He's 16 years old; he's a junior in high school and plays as a goalie for his school's team. He's a good goalie. Some people may even say a great one. And he loves the sport, he's a huge Bruins fan, but he knows deep down he isn't good enough to play professionally. And even if he was, he doubts he'd actually like life as a professional athlete. The issue is: he doesn't really like anything else. He likes books and movies, of many genres, but he doubts either is his dream. Essentially, in the most overachieving family possible, he ended up with nothing he truly wants to achieve, leaving him to feel utterly lost in life. And with college right around the corner, he's fucked. | he/him; cisgender; acehet.
Phoebe Fraser
She's 14 years old; she's a freshman in high school and is the best of her year in all science and math department subjects since the first grade. She's probably the most overachieving of them all. Whether or not this is born out of true passion or a need for something to prove, is a question she doesn't bother herself with too much. Maybe it stems from the feeling that if she's perfect, then her mother might return. Or a love for medicine inspired by her father, or by losing her uncle and secondary father figure at the age of 7 to a disease she couldn't fully understand. But she's also a huge sci-fi and fantasy fan, the type who saves half her allowance every week only to spend it all on merch at Fan Expo. What matters is that she definitely, by no means, has a crush on her cousin's hot teammate. | she/her; cisgender; straight.
Edith Picou
He's 13 years old; he's an 8th grader, and frankly, he doesn't give a fuck. He has a deep love for emo and punk-rock music, plays the drums and has been skating since he was 8. He's prone to getting in trouble, and there are often calls home about him due to him skipping classes or talking back to teachers. Mostly, it all stems from unexpressed grief, the pressure of academic stress placed by his family's nature, pure confusion, and initially unexplained rage about his pubertal body. | he/him; transgender*; gay.
*the only reason his deadname is known is that him realizing he's trans and coming out to his family would be a s1 arc, and social transition a s2 arc. i am trans myself lmao.
Anyway. IDEK IF TO DEVELOP THIS FORWARD, DOES ANYONE LIKE IT.
