what flavor/distro do you recommend first time users? my computer specs

quick side note the BIOS is locked with a password for some reason but i could still reinstall windows without the BIOS by just starting with my USB stick. im not a pro but some help would be nice

definitely agree with the comment below. linux mint will be the easiest distro to use, though afaik with experience of formerly maining a 7th gen intel laptop, i believe your laptop is more than powerful enough to run the cinnamon desktop environment.

Linux Mint is generally the best option for people who want to switch and considering the Powerbooks specs, I'd recommend running it with the XFCE desktop environment
Albeit, if you want a distro that's not hard to install but is also good for power users Debian has a very simple install but it's also good for more tech savvy people

I use ZORIN as it's a good introduction into linux because it's based off the layout of windows using the Ubuntu distro
