Joey Lynch and Aoife Molloy -- hot take

So this might be a very unpopular opinion that I don't see many people talking about.

I finished Aoife's and Joey's story a few days ago, and I have my opinions on it.

SPOILERS UP AHEAD!

Disclaimer, all written down below is my OPINION,  I don't want to keep using, in my opinion, allegedly, assuming, etc., so just know that it is all my opinion and not objective.

N.1, I don't think people should aspire to have their relationship, it was really toxic, and highly unrealistic.

Loving someone who is actively struggling with addiction is hard, and if you don't have a supporting base (friends, family), you can definitely lose yourself in the process. It is not fun, or healthy.

Their relationship was toxic, no doubt about it, and I wouldn't really call them the 'most iconic couple'.

N.2, Aoife's pregnancy was made for the plot of the book.

Now, I probably know what you're thinking, Lea, everything in a book is made for the plot. But I dislike when it's obvious.

For me, I wanna feel like I was thrown into the plot, not that the plot is made for me.

A woman's decision to keep a baby or have the abobo pill (Vanilla reference), is very important and should be respected.

However, Aoife's reason in the book was wanting it, feeling attached to it, and while that is a reason, and I don't want to dismiss it, a baby makes Aoife's and Joey's life a hundred times harder, and I feel like Aoife wouldn't want to do that to them? Especially since Joey had just fallen back into substance use?

Teenage and accidental pregnancy has to be written well, and I just didn't really see that in r6.

N.3, Joey isn't as cute as people make him see.

This is less serious, but I'm just too sensitive to be even close to Joey. Like yelling, fighting at anything, insulting, I'd be scared to speak around him.

But idk, some people find it hot.

N.4, I felt as if Aoife was naive in some scenarios?

She was an absolute baddie, confident, bold, flirty, but I felt as if, sometimes, when she was with Joey, her personality was watered down?

N.5, I was lacking the female rage, I fear.

A moment of true anger. Where Aoife just shuts someone up.

That is all from me, if you agree with any of my points, please comment!!

Thank you for reading!
