Bigwig and El-ahrairah have close ties to each other.
Idk if people have already said this and idek how, like maybe even Bigwig IS El-ahrairah or something? Because I read the book and had 2 instances of things that Bigwig did that seemed very similar to things that El-ahrairah did, too:
Instance 1: "There's a large dog loose in the woods". At some point at the beginning of Watership Down, Bigwig explains to Hazel that there's a large dog loose in the woods, literally. But then at the end where El-ahrairah was speaking to Hazel through Fiver when Fiver was going all crazy, El-ahrairah said the exact same thing. It made sense, since there was also a dog. But since there was another instance, which I'm going to talk about, maybe it's not just a coincidence?
Instance 2: The end plan vs. the fox. So remember that one time that Bigwig chased a fox just for the sake of chasing a fox since he felt restless? Well the end plan that El-ahrairah tells Hazel to let the dog chase the rabbits into Watership Down to scare away the Efrafans. And I feel like those two are very close to each other. I don't know, maybe it's a stretch, and since El-ahrairah was already talking about Bigwig maybe it was just a reference to that. But I feel like the fox encounter was so small that it was lowkey meaningless until this moment... Maybe Bigwig was trying to tell Hazel something beforehand???
Also I read Tales of Watership Down (the second book) and El-ahrairah was very similar to Bigwig, especially on his trip back to his own warren after encountering the Black Rabbit of Inle. He was a leader, obviously, and he was also very stubborn. Maybe not as stubborn, but still. I drew a lot of similarities between them...
I don't know. I'm probably overthinking this. But what do y'all think? I also want to hear other conspiracies if y'all have them!!! I'll probably be opening a forum about this to hear other people's so if u wanna share then plz reply w yours there! :D
