Heio! This is a basic little poem I wrote for my world building project^ I hope someone finds it interesting.
When I looked into the sky,
I saw an endless field of blue.
Littered with the white fluffy clouds, which I had not seen for so long.
I saw a sun, glowing a bright yellow that seemed so foreign yet so familiar.
When I looked into the sky,
I felt the wind gently blow upon my face
And I felt the grass beneath my feet.
When I looked into the sky,
I noticed birds that flew high above my head.
Birds which had not flown in so long.
When I looked into the sky,
I heard a voice from behind me.
It spoke in a soft tone, and when I turned to look, I saw a young woman standing in the field alongside me.
When I looked upon her face,
I saw pale skin that gave off little reflection.
When I looked upon her clothes, I saw aΒ black dress
Which seemed to absorb all light that hit it.
When I looked into her eyes,
I saw a vast sea which seemed to continue far beyond infinity.
And the woman asked me:
"Are you what you are?"
Confused, I asked the woman what she meant,
She simply repeated the question and said:
"Are you what you are?"
Confused once more, I answered with a yes.
The woman turned away without a word.
When I looked beyond her,
I could see the field upon which we stood continuing far past the limits of what I could see.
And I asked the woman:
"WhereΒ are we?"
The woman answered in the same soft tone as before:
"We are nowhere and everywhere."
I asked her what she meant, for I could not comprehend such a thing.
The woman turned around to face me once more
And pointed behind me.
When I looked into the sky, I saw an endless field of red
And I saw a crack in the very sky itself.
I asked the woman what had happened
And she replied that the sky had been shattered by the actions of man.
I asked her to elaborate
And she told me to look at her.
When I looked back towards the woman,
I did not see her.
Before me, there was a hole in the heavens itself
Which radiated a black energy that bent the air around it.
I asked the woman what it was that appeared before me
When, from next to me, I heard her voice say:
"This is the creation of your kind."
Drawn in by the creation that had seemingly cracked the sky,
I got closer.
When I reached the creation, I looked within it.
And inside it, I saw an infinity,
An entire universe locked within.
Within the universe, I saw several more creations like the one that I was staring into.
Within the universe, I also saw life,
Life, which had existed for eons
I asked the woman who now stood behind me how this could have cracked the sky.
And sheΒ replied:
"When I created man, I had done so that mankind could create what I could not."
When I asked the woman what she meant, she answered:
"Perfection."
But how could a being who could not create perfection create something to do that very task?
I looked back upon the woman.
When I looked into her eyes,
I saw a deep sadness.
One that continued far beyond the reaches of possibility or reason.
Even so, I saw thatΒ beyond the vast sadness,
There was a light.
When I looked into the sky,
I saw a sun.
Bleeding red with the blood of all who had looked into the abyss and learned the truth.
Whilst the blood seeped into the sky, contaminating all that was once pure,
I saw the woman smile while tears began forming in her eyes.
When I asked the woman what was happening
She replied:
"All which has, and will be, shall cease to exist. And only I shall remain."
When I asked why this was happening,
The woman replied: "So that you may tell your kind what they have done."
When I looked into the sky,
I saw an endless field of blue.
Littered with the white fluffy clouds and a sun that glowed in a warm golden yellow.
And that was when I knew:
That the Sky had not yet broken.
